"Control strips visible in"... am I misunderstanding this?

"Control strips visible in"... am I misunderstanding this?

In PREFERENCES > MIDI > CONTROL SURFACES I have the V700c selected, and "Control strips visible in" set to "Console View".

I thought this would mean that only strips visible in the Console View would be shown on the physical console. I have audio tracks shown, but MIDI tracks hidden, but I'm still getting the MIDI tracks on the console.

Am I missing or not understanding something?
