Lyrics
You take me on a trip through space and time
I grab this frozen moment and make it mine, all mine
And I'll forget the things I left behind
I gladly kiss this shortlived mess goodbye

So put your arms around me and shut the door
We're gonna get higher, higher, than we've ever been before
(So) take the keys to my dreams, to wonder and explore
We're gonna get higher, higher, like angels passing
Everlasting

We will stand when the walls fall down
And the flood has drowned everything in sight
We face the storm on stony grounds
Giving us shelter in a starless night
Like the circle, like the ring
Like the ancient songs they sing
Love is the first thing and the last thing
Everlasting

I actually would appreciate some bad feedback, like what could be better?

It sounded pretty good to me. The way she pronounces "higher" kind of sticks out and is distracting.

Sounds pretty good to me as well (though you ripped off my title :-) It's pretty heavily compressed, though I guess that's par for the course for the genre. I like the use of whimsical featured bits that come in throughout.  I wouldn't worry about the pronunctiation thing really. If anything that sort of thing makes a voice distinctive, which certainly is needed these days.

Thanks you all.  I actually did not compress it all that much, at least compared to most electronic musicians.  But I am glad there are still people out there who believe limiting is overdone too much, I am in that camp as well.

I cannot do anything about the vocal take really but any adivce, criticism on anything else would be most welcome.

I really appreciate the feedback you all.

I am enjoying listening to other tracks on here as well!

I actually thought this was a Christian cover. But it's not.

The long echo could have been cut a bit shorter. (Goodbye)

It sounds good on the computer speakers. The girls voice could stand to be a bit brighter. The synths were brighter then the vox. I'd bump the higher freqs to give her vox a bit of that high end sizzle and sparkle.  It would not take much to bring out the vox.... a bit of EQ in the right places would do it.

Aside from that, the song is good, the mix is pretty decent.

Really like the song.  Nice voice and electronica combination.  Her beautiful voice can come up a tad bit to give it more presence.

Voice should come up a bit, seems to start off fine, but by the end, the music creeps up in volume perhaps.

    Different.

I liked the accent on 'higher', and actually thought she could use more echo effect in spots.  Good overall -- going back for another listen now!

yeah there is more going on at the end. I agree I will have to cut some frequencies or something in there. either that or just up the volume of the vox at the end but I almost feel like that is cheating or not right or something.

Thanks so it is pretty obvious to me I need to work on the vocal a little more.  I actually did eq it a tad already in the highs, I just don't want it to sound unatural or too thin.  It never ends....  but I am determined to get it right.  Also I don't know about you all but I like to put out a CD for damily and friends so it is important for me to get things as perfect as possible mainly because I am spending all that money getting the CD produced so I don't want to do it half way.

Anyhow thanks a lot for all the helpful and kind replies.  I will for sure check out you alls music now and offer what I can.

Nice work, the others nailed the critique, so I will leave that alone. It was a really cool song, in a genre i was never a fan of, but i still liked it so that says something.

sounds pretty good to me, though clearly this isn't my genre. sounds like something Cryophonik would come up with...vocals are pretty cool. only listening on the laptop so won't attempt to critique the mix. didn't like one of the synth sounds too much (like the one around 1'50), but that's just my own opinion.

yeah I am pretty sure I know what one you are talking about.  Something about it never sounding perfect to me either.  I actually changed it and am working on the mix some more.  Thanks so much for the reply.

I liked it and surprisingly I've alwasy liked that electroica kick drum.  It makes it easy for someone as stupid as me to follow the beat :)

Good tune, sounds clean, smooth, clear.  The vocals contrast nicely.

    Very good.

ps - I like the lyrics (but try to never use the phrase "space and time", I know I have been sorely tempted a number of times, but so far have resisted.)  :)

I like this. the opening synth works well with the vocal, she has that real female techno voice in my opinion. Gotta love that bass kick. I found the "goodbye" echo too a little long, is it synched with the tempo, it feels like it is dragging slightly maybe.

I found the track does get a little one dimensional after a minute or so....until "everlasting" at 2:55 and then the lead synth comes in then we're bangin' again!

The mix sounds great, has this been mastered yet?

You have a good grasp on this electronica music, I am currently out with a broken hand at moment (no guitar/piano) so if your ever looking for a male vocal on a track shout me! Just did a dance track with james yeomans recently, called freakin out if you need a reference.

    Peace

Very cool of you to offer your vocals!  I will for sure contact you if I come up with something.  Much appreciated.  The echo is a little "off" but I am pretty sure I like it that way.  I may try something different but not sure.  If it is going to put too many people off I guess I should change it since this will be the opener for my next CD.

haha I was laughing so much when I read this.  That was funny and so true.  I did not write this and I am not sure I even care a whole lot what vocals say in all honesty.  I never really listen to vocals but I do understand there are a lot of great song writers here who do!
