Everything sounds really small, especially the drums. I think that adding a bass part and getting the drums to sound better would take this to the next level.

I saw it on soundcloud before coming on here... and was wondering if it was another J&R production.

I like the music and the way the piano and guitar interleave. On my laptop speakers the rhythm sounded almost like a basic click track but that's probably just my laptop.

How many of these have you got to come?

    Cheers,
    Terry.

    Hi Janet,YOU like it ? ; )

Hi Jonas, thanks for listening, replaced the drums with some loops, better ?

Hi Terry , thanks for checking it out, I shouldn't be allowed to do drums, changed to loops.
Well there's at least one in the works.

Very nice performance indeed - by both of you.  Very nice complementary interplay between piano and guitar.  The drums sounded as if they were panned a wee bit to much to the right rather than center (but maybe this was intentional -- if so, that's cool) but then again that might just be my crummy equipment.
    Nice one!!!!

Something sounds distorted. Piano.... so I jumped to the other site...same thing.

HIgh freq disto on the track.

The song ..... hummmmmm. While I admire both of you as musicians, this is not a song that inspired me. It didn't take me anywhere musically. Performances were on the "safe" side.

Obviously not my genre.  But very pleasant and soothing just the same.  I can tell you've both been in the music game a while.  Guitar and piano go very well together.  Very nice!

This one has a bit of smooth jazz feel to it.  It sounded good to me.  I would bring up the guitar a bit more.  Around 2:11, it looked like you missed a note.  Otherwise great job!

Hi Freddy ,thanks for listening, will have a look at those drums.

Herb, don't know what happened there, uploaded a new mix to soundclick ,less distorted but not perfect, same mp3 or wave distorts on soundcloud. Didn't have any high drama in mind, just a quiet little tune. : )

Metaltek, thanks for listening, this one almost has enough distortion on it to be heavy metal, but that was unintentional. ; )

Hi Albert ,thanks for listening, glad you liked it.

Hi Vicente, thanks for the good ears, having so much trouble mixing I missed that one, fixed it now.

    Nice!

Yeah the drums are not the best. As with your other tune, I think it's a panning issue. Moving the piano's center over to the left some more should bring out the guitar even more. The guitar is better on this track.

    Kind of an abrupt ending?

    Very well played!

Much better overall. The bass could come up considerably (3-5 dB).....or the piano and guitar could come down by about that much.

I like the new mix, Rik.  :)

Herb...yes, no 'grand' piano playing here, by any means.  When I played it, it was as backing to his guitar parts.  I didn't know it was going to be so upfront...but it still works as a 'chill' piece.  :)

nice, quiet, open, autumnal, melancholic...nicely understated piano playing Janet, as ever great guitar playing rik. Mix sounds fine but only on small PC speakers.

it prob does need a bass guitar especially when both the guitar and piano are playing melodies in the higher range, some low end will balance it out.

Overall this is good, nice melody, it would be considered safe I guess.

I loved the first introduction of the guitar coming in that was a sweet little solo.

The drums are a little sterile too, they dont really add much as the track goes on.

    Good work,

    Cian

I would drop the piano down at times a full octave to give space for the guitar, and some change feel to it.

While pretty, like Herb, it is pleasant but without really moving me.

I think it's a doozy. Very nice. Has that uplifting film vibe. All's well, and then come the drums. I don't know what happened here but, it sounds sort of like the drums were loops that were not in tempo, or, the performances were played to a different beat so the new loops don't work.

How was this production born? To a click?

I think the composition is excellent.

I think the drum pattern is wrong overall, felt like the drums didn't belong on this track at all. Maybe a  percussion track would suit better.
