sounds cool... the bass is weak but I saw it's a work in progress so I will simply say.... I like where it's going.

    Guitarhacker,
Thanks for the listen.  Agreed on the bass.  I wrote this for the Cakewalk boys and really don't know if they want to play it but it was a lot of fun to do and very fast in composition and recording.  Where is Carolina Del Norte EEUU?

Guitars and drums sound good. The guitars sound like they were miced.
The bass could use more bottom end for my tastes.
    Nice recording.

Nice job!  Love the beat.  The voice could use some reverb to add some space.

    Hi Vechung,

Thanks for your comments!  I was going for an AC/DC thing.  First time in my life I mixed a song without effects on the lead vocal.  It's a brave new world in my senior years!

Great job! Really like the lyrical content.
I agree with the above, lil more bass to drive the groove & some verb to blend the vocal, so it does'nt sound so "on top" of the song.
    Rock on.

    Hi PGShadow,

Thanks for the comments.  I need to check the bass because on my systems, it almost seems too loud!  Lead vocal is too hot but I wanted the lyrics loud and clear.  Best to ya.

What?  No line about the bakers flippin bits?

It does need a lot more punch in the bass.  You may want to check your monitoring setup (Got a 'loudness' button pushed somewhere?).

    Cute Idea.  Thanksfor sharing it.

"Flippin bits" - LOL.  I wish I had thought of that for the song.  Thanks.

I really like the panning on this. I wish I could get those type of strong tones on the guitar to do something like this.

    Sounds great to me!

    Bobby,

Thanks for your comments.  You can get those guitar tones.  What kind of electric do you have?  I use an old 70's Strat running through GR4 Lite.
I can send you the settings if you want.

Sounds like it's heading in the right direction! The vocal is way up front though. Pull it back down into the mix more and crank up the bass!

Sounds good to me, love the humour. I can totally here the AC/DC guitar thing as well. Only thing missing is the steady 8ths from the bass.

    Thanks FastBikerBoy,

I was thinking of AC/DC when that riff happened!  I'll try some 8ths on the bass as you suggest.

I'm not going to comment on the mix because it is a work in progress but I like the tune it has real potential.  I will give you a little production advice though maybe try putting a little distortion (maybe even turn the saturation KNOB up to 10) seriously though try putting a little distortion on the vocal, just to give them a little crunch.  I suggest this because of the style of the tune whenever I hear a dirty southern rock sound it just for my ears needs a little dirt, I think you know what I mean.

The song lyrics are really funny, I think you are taking the piss!!!

    Peace and good work

Thanks LanceJ, I love the Stones and take that as a compliment!

Ben, not a bad idea on grunging up the vocals but mind you, this was the first mix I have ever done where I did not use any verb or delay!  I am taking big steps here LOL.  I think I am taking the piss but I do think the programmers would have fun with this.  My hat's off to them.  In the middle of the song, I am trying to relay what a paying client might be saying to the engineer if they were not on X1e and that's why he suggest they better start over.  I really don't know where those lyrics came from but they made me smile - alot!

    Thanks much.
