"Loading track template would have exceeded Music Creator limits."


In Music Creator 5:

I'm getting the error:
"Loading track template would have exceeded Music Creator limits."

I understand that I'm supposed to be using:
Insert > Soft Synths > Studio Instruments
But when I do that there are no instruments listed except
SI-Drum Kit (which is greyed out)

How can I get more than 8 instruments?
What am I doing wrong?

    is this error happening when you're trying to add more than 8 instruments?  if so, you can't add more than 8 instruments.  that's the limit for MC.  you'll have to bounce some of them to an AUDIO track in order to get more.

    That's one of the limits of this "beginner" platform..... but bounce to audio as Beagle suggests...or use TTS which handles 16 channels of midi with just ONE insert.....

    I've tried searching on this topic & have found nada, so I'm resurrecting an ancient thread.  Must be an obscure issue I guess.
     
    I have MC6 build 5.0, and I created a new 16 track audio project.  I then started inserting tracks via the "insert from track template" - I added maybe 7 or 8 and they all worked fine both independently & together (using AKAI MPK Mini).
     
    When I attempted to load the next template, I got the "loading the track template would have exceeded Music Creator limits. Load Failed" error.
     
    At that point I deleted all the other templates I had inserted, and cut down the # of audio tracks to 7 (none are using any sort of audio effects or eq).  But I still get the same error when I try to load a new template.  I saved the file and restarted MC6 but the error repeats.  I can insert a template onto other projects...just not this one...it's as if once the limit is reached, it doesn't reset.  Is there some sort of a project configuration file that I can edit to manually reset this?  
     
    Any advice?

    AFAIK the number of audio tracks shouldn't be a problem, the limit of 8 is for soft synths.
    If the added tracks are plain audio tracks, why use templates, why not just add a track? What do the templates contain? Could MC treat templates as if they were synths?? I don't know...

    I deleted the extra audio tracks while grasping at straws heheh.
     
    The templates that I loaded were different types of MIDI drum patches...if that's the correct term. Basically I was trying out a bunch of them to see what they sounded like (this was the first time I had discovered templates).I suppose it's not the end of the world if I can't get this worked out...I was just fiddling around trying to learn the interface in this particular project.  But I'd like to know how to resolve it, in case it happens again.

    Track templates do not contain data. They can contain plug-ins including synths. Is is possible you were deleting the tracks but leaving the synths in the synth rack? If so, the synth rack may have filled up. The synth rack is a tab in the browser.

    To paraphrase a famous horror movie;
    "You deleted the tracks, but you left the synths loaded, didn't you? You son of a @#$, you left the synths and you only deleted the tracks! You only deleted the headstones I mean tracks! Why! Why!"
     
    That was it.  Although the tracks were deleted, all the synths were still loaded in the synth rack, causing unpleasant spiritual manifestations in my PC.  Deleted them and I can add templates again.  Thanks for everybody' help.  This project....is clean.
