I dunno if SoundCloud is dead right now, but none of the songs will play for me. It acts like its playing but never makes any progress.

wookie thanks for commenting, glad you like it.... i have a reason for posting this one in particular, i'll come back to that in a bit..... dcumpian- thanks for listening... and yes, this one is a bit different. i really like the acoustic/electric blend, a lot of my stuff has been either full on electric or totally acoustic... i think maybe i should work on the 'blend' tunes more, see if something comes out of that! the drums, were performed by Brent Dacus, a session drummer out of Dallas/Ft Worth, that hooked up with Mike Musgrove to provide “drums for hire”.... so to speak. mike recorded the drums there, using a Roland VS-2480 DAW, and brent played along with my 'demo' of the song... mike sent me the audio files, i dropped them into my DAW, and re-recorded everything around the new drum tracks. worked great.

scottytunes thanks scott, for checking it out.. now, on the dobros.. there ARE no dobros! LOL it's actually a pair of acoustic guitar parts, detuned to open d, and i'm just playing standard slide on those. i'd love to have some REAL dobro on that track, that'd be so cool... i don't know how to dobro. i need a dobro. or sumptin. heheh

Listened again... I really enjoyed this one... I have several old National-style resonator guitars with the "biscuit-bridges... but only one real "Dobro" with the cast aluminum spider-bridge resonator... its a round-neck, steel-body, fiddle-edge from the 1930s... if you can find one, it's worth whatever you have to pay to get it... again, I'm sorry I missed your feedback on my latest post... Thanks again...

notnat thanks man.... i'm glad you got to hear this one, it's a bit different... a direction i think i want to explore more.... a lot of close mic technique employed on this one, it was harder to get the tones right, because the close mic demands such a limited range of motion while playing.. you can't move!!! at all!! if you do, you hear every little movement.... so, it's hard to sit still when you squirm all the time like i do.... i had to find a sitting position on the acoustics, set the mic, and literally go stiff in position, because any lateral movement at all, and the eq of the mic would just go to he77
LOL i've thought about picking up a dobro, i think i'll put the feelers out for real...... thanks again!

guitartrek thanks for listening... this is a real drummer... Brent Dacus, out of D/FW he's a degreed dude, does gig stew in that area.... the guy that recorded the drums is mike musgrove, another artist in that area..... brent played along with my demo, mike captured it and sent it to me, and i began from scratch with the new drum tracks.
that was a great set of tracks i got from brent, i built an entire album (now out of print) around his drum tracks. "Bat's Brew", another one i recently posted, was another of these songs.

I especially love the vocal harmonies, this is what separates "good tracks" from "excellent tracks"! so this is a kilkler!

Love everything about this tune, bat. Drums sound great, as usual. Nice how you managed multiple guitars right up front without getting in each others' way or stepping on the vocal, and a very nice contrast between the acoustic and electric guitars. But it's the tight, well-balanced vocal harmonies that really set the piece apart. Not so much Zep as CSN&Y meet the Swampers.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Love it. Production is great. Almost sounds like a lost track from LZ III, esp. the slide. And that is a compliment. @
