"Love Yourself" - Mix ears needed
It was a rainy day today, stuck indoors so I recorded a cover of this. Dont let the bieber thing get in your way, this was co-written by Ed Sheeran, its a well put together pop song in my opinion. All over the Irish charts at the moment. I might stick a youtube vid with it up tomorrow, but any minor comments or mix crits ill gladly take on board please. https://soundcloud.com/ci...-youtube-cover-version updated youtube: https://www.youtube.com/w...E&feature=youtu.be Thanks, Cian

You did a great job all the way. I am not a good mixer but to me it sounded perfect. Have a great year!

I like this. Great work. Very James Taylor'ish. I love how you set the backing vocals. I think the vox is too loud during the verses. When the song builds, the instruments during the verses are too low. You just need to do some automation work IMHO.

Hey folks, thanks for checking it out. production wise it is one of the solid ones. Seems to help when its actually a fully written song by someone else, the vision is a lot clearer from the start. In terms of verses being a tad loud, probably truth to that. I have pretty heavy compression on the masterbus which probably pulled that all up. Its uploaded now so ill leave it. Thanks, Cian

Really nice, Cian! About the only thing I didn't care for was the organ part during the chorus and "breakdown" section where it seems a bit strong, and really heavy on the fast vibrato. Otherwise it's a great cover IMO! Oh... and the falsetto harmony does sound a lot like Ed Sheeran.

cclarry/freddy glad the mix and production came out clear Steve, funny that I was on the fence about that too however the few I showed genuinely liked it, however the vibrato is something I wouldnt have picked up on however. Thanks, Cian
