i'm the ghost of you
and i know what you do
i know your every move
'cause i'm on it

i know what you think
i know your favorite drink
i know your favorite kink
'cause i'm on it

spectral finder keeper fees, a percentage of your nectar

cut and pasted alibis
cataracted in your eyes
colder than a midnight sun
never seen by any anyone
welcome to your stupid face
the one you had on yesterday
the one that never goes away
like leprosy and/or genital herpy herpes

you're the death of me
you are my one disease
and i'm your effigy

don't you even think
that you'll have time to blink
that you'll have time to think

i'm the ghost of you oh....
i know what you think
i know your favorite drink
i know your favorite kink
'cause i'm on it

vivisectioned monkey head trip mirror-image death trip tease

why are you here???
why are you here???
why are you here???

    interesting groove....
kinda reminds me of STP and Soundgarden...

i'm working on DADGAD right now....
    so this caught my interest...

it's a fun tuning, aint it!

    i dig the song....
mixwise, i think the snare is a bit too hot, in the 500hz range....

the vox sound a bit thin as well.....
there's lots of subjectives in there, i know....

    why logic, instead of sonar?

The elements you have combined  give this a unique touch, Timing,Tuning and lyrics. Doesn't fit exactly to anything although similar to some others in style.

I like "different". I like the tune. Really rocks.

Love the vocals and guitars. The drums need to be a little bigger, IMO. Otherwise, love the song! Great job!

Petty cool, nice work for a band. I like the delay effect on the vocals, but the low fi effect I think could be used more sparingly (only crit) however, that is stylistic, and "everyone" is a producer. Overall, excellent work. Believe it or not, I could hear the Beatles :-) And Sabbath.

That is NUTTY! Love the overall feel, and I say the bass sits in there SO nicely. That's always a tricky spot for me, personally... not concealing the kick AND leaving room for the lows coming from the guitars... I'm diggin' it. If you want a nitpick- The vox are too 'present' in the first v. (Loving that bass)

hey folks i am truly thankful for all this feedback!!!!! u all rock- really trying to take some suggestions here-

new semi-official master is on youTube- warmer mids for vox and guitars/ more bass w/ pick attack/ better/larger drum presence/
going for a modern zeppelin but dark feel i think in terms of vision and dynamics/ aural stereo spacing with flavor of analog- some beatles influence mos def ;p

tricky....getting the drums right and to sit with bass nicely as InThorns said :) much gratitude again for listen and sets of ears :)

hmmm i labored a while on this... see i didn't wanna lose the snare on small speakers / low-fi systems ... is it too annoying or a matter of taste thing? trying to eq it out a tad deeper maybe that will fix

Daren, you're a terrific songwriter, as I've told you before.  I like the fact that you're willing to take chances and try different techniques.  I agree with some that this mix could be different, but it's your style, and you stay true to your vision.  Carry on!

    Hey, Daren,

Very cool song with great songwriting and performances, and a really cool retro-fusion vibe!

I love the thick wall of guitars, the AIC sounding vocals, and to me, it seems to have almost an early Black Sabbath production style.

Great stuff, brother, keep 'em coming!

thanks Lynn, again :) very much - I think the issue here is mids - the snare competes with vox from like 1k- 5k and the way I kinda squashed them in mastering I think - this was huge working file over 72 tracks all - also I trigger midi samples of snare and kick mixed in with the acoustic drum track across all main transients so this too ESP in snare is making me very carefully having to dial in band by band then matching that to post EQ compression levels across those bands

before I remix everything I'm learning some mid-side mastering techniques that may help me widen the stereo image and enhance the color of vocals ESP lush harmonies

everything a work in progress --

hey who is a mastering post EQ genius in here - Clean - Wookie - Bapu ?? would like to pm someone for guidance :) thanks :)

Bob fyi :)  like so many people said this :) I didn't realize it at first but I just listened to Paranoid ( War Pigs, Fairies Wear Boots etc) and I can see it esp drum/bass sound working together - also made me miss Sabbath!

Daren, you know my take on the vocals.  Your music is top notch.  I like the mix.  That bass is really a nice bottom with the percussion.  It has a great tone and cut.  Good job, buddy!

Sounds to me like a cross between AIC and early Soundgarden.  I love a good song that has a weird time signature but you don't notice because it's well produced.  This is one of those kinds of songs.  Great work Daren!

The mix is muddy.  Either your monitors aren't very accurate in the bottom octaves and/or your room has issues that prevent you from hearing it.  You're just a couple of EQ tweaks away from a major improvement.  I dig the overall vibe of the song.
