String Jammer
I hear ya, Rob. The bass line adds an additional interest grabber to go along with your smoking guitars.

well, i dig playing bass as much as guitar, so i try to mix it up there too

That's a real tour de force Bats, you crammed SO much in there! Man, I love those harmony runs, I'm envious of that. I love to harmonise guitars but have to do it...very...slowly.... Excellent stuff, as always.

yes, i'm trying for the most calories in every serving.
heheh
nothing wrong with 'slow' harmonized guitars!

bapu
Bats,

On the technical/mix side I almost never have anything to say about your stuff.

Performance wise, ditto.

The only thing I can honestly say is that I almost never hum anything of yours twenty minutes later. In all honesty your choruses aren't very memorable to me.

But maybe that is not what you want to focus on?

thanks for the kudos on the tech stuff, bapu..

and you're right about the 'memorable melodies',
i'm not trying to write typical sing-along stuff.
i DO write stuff like that, for other projects, but not for bats brew.

to me, these are 'stories', and the melodies serve the story....
they are not just repeating simple melody motifs as 'hooks' to hum along to.....
this is designed this way.

the goal is to marry progressive and jazzier rock, with classic rock, and put 'spins' on everything,
so that at any one point during a song, you don't say 'oh, i've heard that lick before'.

i'm trying to create something different than the standard right now.
my stuff definitely is NOT for the pop lover, more for the ADHD crowd.
