Nylon is a miracle material, it can make a woman's legs look good? And it can be used to string a guitar! What else can make these two claims?  Sounds good, I listened to all 3.

I'm glad you figured that out. :)

And it's 7/4 here.  In Canada it's 4/7.  But they don't have the 4th of July there.  Well, they do, I guess, but you know....lol

One take, huh?  Okay, now I'm REALLY jealous

Seriously, Rik, your compositions and playing never cease to amaze me.  And they're almost invariably pretty pieces, often providing a welcome respite from my beat heavy rock and roll world.

Very nice Rik!  All three tunes had a 'haunting' vibe to my ears and you put me in the zone with them. As always, wonderful playing and a clear mix. I'm a fan of the 'one-take' performances as well!! It keep the emotional content intact!

Pure magic. Excellent playing. Is that your own composition? I think of Albeniz when I hear this, at least the first part. Would be interesting to hear how you record the guitar? I use two microphones. This sounds like one. Short delay with slight reverb?

Hi Equality, these are my own compositions, basically three variations of the same chords. The guitar is a  Lag 112nce nylon string acoustic electric recorded direct (DI) on one track and via a Behringer B-5 microphone at the 12th fret on a second track. From the DI track I only use the lows to low-mids and reverb, TC-Electronic m-30 freeware, is only applied to the Di track. On the mic track there's only a highpass filter,at  100hz. Standard Cakewalk compressor on the master bus just to catch a stray spike and Flux Stereo Tool for a little bit of width.

    Hi Rik,

Finally got round to listening to these, I've been meaning to for a couple of days but, you know, life gets in the way sometimes.

Anyway, these 3 pieces are fab - I was wondering if they shared a similar chord structure while listening to the second one and your reply above confirms that - but the similarity isn't so obvious on the third one to my ears.

Marvellous, keep on doing more Sunday sessions like that ;-)

    Cheers,
    Terry.

Hi Terry, thanks for listening. The third one is  somewhat of a mirror image of the second one, back to front. But all three of them are based around the same chord shapes on the E,A and D strings combined with open strings G,B and E. The last piece has a few melody notes on the high E which sets it apart from the other two.

Great playing. Are these originals?   Sounds a bit like a combination of Scarlatti and Sor.
