This has a bit of a different sound than you normally put out but it still has the Bats signature. Good work on the slide guitar. Terrific mix of sounds here all supporting some cool lyrics. Great stuff!!!

Another great song. I'm always struck by how professional your music sounds, the production of it and the musicianship.

Don't worry bats, this is good. You might want to write something anti-hipster, it'll have legs I think. Has nawlins become hipster?

this is really nice! Love the harmonies and openess from the acoustic guitar and ensemble. Great sound overall man! And by the way, STAY is da bomb! That bass man!

hi bjorn, thanks for listening..... you know, there's nothing special about the way i record, i pay attention to gain staging, i try to get the source to sound as good as i can, i use minimum effects and rely mainly on arrangements and subtle volume and panning changes to get the mix across. and i try to hold my lip right. heheh

hey eph! anti hipster, i honestly don't know what IS hipster, so not sure how to go about a 'anti' perspective! NOLA hipster? i mean, it tries, but it IS new orleans after all. weird and unique.

Well good to know.. I stopped writing my songs around the bass years ago.. After hearing that, I might have to rethink that.. sounds really good.

I really liked the rhythm acoustic guitar - impressive. Well composed song. Nice job on lead vocal and BGVs. You have a Gibson SG double neck - that's cool.

CD just arrived from CD Baby. Will listen to it tomorrow. One fun fact? The person at CD Baby who inserted the front and back graphics must not have known what s/he was looking at. Both were inserted upside down with the bat standing on the branch. At first, I thought I was having eye 'trouble', trying to read the track names on the back. And I thought it was the 2 bowls of Root Beer Kush. Hilarious.

oh man, the fun begins. LOL funny about the graphics... i was told that the first few were put in wrong, and they'd correct the rest of the batch. they just could not understand the bat. LOL like, no idea... is it a dog that stands on it's back two feet?!! LOL again..... it is original artwork, acrylic on two panes of glass, sitting on a sheet of gold rice paper. the shadow effect is an actual shadow of the text on the top pane of glass, taken outdoors under full light with the sun at about a 30 degree angle in the sky.
