Son, you are pumping out tunes this weather!

This had energy and simplicity, great track to play live. I like the way the vocal are tucked way back.

"Ill be under the ground if you want me....."  solo = que--->moshing!

Hi Daren, this certainly rocks. I used to play in open c on steelstring acoustic guitar, didn't sound like this though ; )

Daren, you've done it again.  This has your signature sound and so much raw energy that I just hooked my house up to it.  This is one tune that I think the vocals belong in the background just a touch, and you nailed it.  As always, your lyrics are great as is your guitar playing.  We just need to get you on the cover of the Rolling Stone while there still is one.

    All the best,

much appreciated, Lynn :) yeah i like the rawness about this track- it's more or less a simple tune too & is a lot of fun to play live, so i tried to capture that and not over-produce.

awesome Clan. thanks. & exactly, as i said to Lynn, this was a fav to play live, so i tried to capture that energy in the studio. tucked the vox back a bit, esp in the 1st part of chorus, as even though i'm singing all the parts in this studio version, i tried to emulate Dan, Rob or Alan singing the chorus parts in a live performance to give it that stage dimensionality etc...

    Hey, Daren,

Very cool post punk rocker with a ton of energy flowing throughout the mix!

It sort of reminds me of a fusion of a modern version of the Ramones vibe, combined with Alice In Chains.

    Great stuff, nice work!

Let's see - everything but the kitchen sink - I know I heard a jackhammer in there    *lol*    NICE!   As a lyricist, I got a real kick out of your lyrics too, on this!  As others have noted, you have the perfect vocal style and slight background effect for this pumping rock style.   A great job all the way around,  very nicely done!!    ~ John

It was actually quite good. You have the skills, to pay the bills... And seem to be able to do different styles as well? We'll never catch up to James Yoyo in terms of diversity? I've tried, trust me, "it's a losing battle..." I'm currently fighting hard for 2nd place. I consider myself to be one of the most perverse, I'm sorry, "diverse" artist's on the forum.

hey cool; thanks.  yeah i dabble sometimes in other genres just to keep it interesting eg the Doors cover, but that is something i'd never attempt to play out w/ MRI of course lol. James is indeed quite the impressive showman both in technique and talent, and you have a studio/songwriting panache that is head and shoulders above many, so your comments mean quite a lot. i'm just here really to listen and learn, as for the latter, i have a lot to still absorb and apply.  kinda learning/teaching myself by doing and observing other engineers over the years. spent a decade just writing songs and playing out, not doing much more than just plugging in, so i have a lot of catching up to do. my fav DAW setup is Logic/iZotope, so there is always something new to explore.

Yes, punk vibe it is.  Good stuff - great guitar lead - slides right in.

the vocals are a bit too good for most punk stuff (and the lyrics).  You doubled them like Joey, yes?  They work and sound great - but better than most of the early punk singers.  That ain't a criticism, just an observation.  I wouldn't pump up the suck level just to be historically accurate. ;-)

Bro, this is cool as hell, & right up my alley personally. I think the vox maybe a hair too far back but that is really subjective. I like how you left the narly guitar noises in the intro/ending. It's got that gritty rock feel to it. Nice mix & Great hook.

I totally liked everything about this.  Really nice work, Daren.  I have mixed feelings about this genre, liking about 50% of what I hear, but THIS TUNE is great!
