I knew that I was going to like this before I heard it. Last night, I watched a biography of Jimi Hendryx on the Biography channel, and your wah-wah guitar solo reminded me of him. What else to say? Nothing, you showed the world what can be accomplished with Sonar.

Bat, Reminds me of Kiss a little bit. Sounds good... You certainly have excellent control over the wah. Your guitar tones are really pro. Vox are good too.... Couple spots where the crash seems a little too loud but not a big deal. Everything else is pretty well balanced. Like the Brian May'ish echo parts just ahead of the guitar solo. Apparent a lot of work went into this.... Regards

Terrific!!! This is a powerhouse number. Your guitar work is stellar as is your vox. Great balance and panning between the lead and rhythm guitars -- especially during the leads. Excellent sound. Freddy J

Lynn thanks for listening...... you know, the very first wah i ever owned, i bought because of Electric Ladyland. once upon a time, i knew every song on that album.... and that's pretty much what taught me some wah technique. of course, since then, i've had a thousand other influences, but at the bottom of it all, it's JH markno999 KISS?! heheh, ok, i'll take that. kiss. that's funny...... i mean, i DID spend some time with Dressed to Kill and Destroyer when i was a wee lad..... so i can't say there's none of that in there!! LOL crashes, yeah, sometimes i just want them to slap in the face. and other times, i wished they were more tucked in...... that's one of those 'sitting on the fence' kinds of decisions. i guess, when i was mixing it the last time, i must have tweaked the overheads, maybe i backed off the attack on the track compression, and it let more thru.... i don't know, but you've got a good ear! Freddy J appreciate the kind words freddy there's a LOT of active panning going on in this one..... especially during the breakdown part, and the buildup to the solo in the middle. lanceJ appreciate the comment, lance

Holy cow, Rob, I haven't heard this one before. I'll save all the adjectives that I've use on your songs before and just say that it is absolutely up to your standards which are absolutely sky high. I'll ask the same question I asked 3 or more years ago when I heard "the Time is Magic" for the first time. "WHO ARE YOU, REALLY'? Later, buddy.

daryl thanks old rocker! heheh bud wah...... i'll tell you, the way i approach it is, there's too much variable, but i like the high end on my neck pickups, and i like the low end on my bridge pickups.... so when i rocker that thing, i very rarely go full treadle on it.... never 'heel to toe' and back... i find a range that seems to be the 'sweet spot' of the wah, for that particular moment. the choice of pickup, how much gain, the amp settings, it all changes everything. so, i find a limited range of motion on the wah, and only move it in that range for specific things. now, this DOES required some self control!! LOL cuz sometimes i like to just STAND on top of that pedal i'm light enough not to crush it, and when i get wound up, who knows what happens! but for recording, i take great care to focus on the range, and in that respect, i think the Bud-Wah rules.

That's kind of my experience too, but I bought it to use the way I used my old one years ago, I don't even remember what brand it was. I use the wha a lot like Jimmy Messina (Loggins and Messina, Poco) used his and the generally called for long sweeping wahs. I adjusted the gearing on the pot but it's hard to make it cry as it kicks over right in the middle from very bassy to very trebbley, right now. I've used it on a couple of tunes and it sounded nice, but I really had to work hard at getting what I wanted. I had to use the very narrow range as you said. It is quiet. I see they have an updated model out now. You use yours to good effect. Well glad to hear it's not broken, but I might look for another model. Let me know if you want to buy a second one. Daryl

MGH appreciate the comment man, i like your hybrid comment...... hadn't thought of that combo, but it works! LOL i want you to want me daryl- Physically change the sweep cap. This is a very simple mod. All that has to be done is to change the 0.01uF capacitor in parallel with the inductor. Making it smaller shifts the range up and making it larger will shift it down. I personally like a 0.015uF to 0.022uF cap – it makes it sound fatter. I don’t like a thin, nasally sounding wah pedal. Give me something with meat! you might want to investigate some of the models out there, that let you actually dial in the frequency of the 'crossover'. there are some stellar designs out there, not cheap, but will do what you want without having to mess with the gearing. 1st up, the most obvious: Dunlop 535Q Multi-Wah Crybaby Pedal. then, Fulltone CLYDE Deluxe Wah Effect Pedal Dunlop DB01 Dimebag Darrell Crybaby From Hell Wah Pedal The Ibanez WD7 Weeping Demon

trucker music thanks man... the middle part...? you mean, the spacy little breakdown part......? right after the wah wah solo......? hehe, man, that section went thru so many stages... at one point, it was all guitar instrumental...... then i had this really intense mix with WAY too many parts going on, guitars, voxes all blended, it was a mess. finally, i just boiled it down to NOTHING but the basic parts that needed to be there. of course, the reverse cymbal rides gives it a bit of a head-trip effect.... now, vocal tracks, and panning, i'm sitting here trying to remember what i did, and that part of my brain is asleep. LOL that is just 3 part harmony, with about 6 tracks, 1 lead vox/middle part, two high parts, two low parts, and one middle harmony to the high and low harmony. i panned the main part straight up, and went about 50% with half of the harmonies, left and right, and a couple of the tracks are hard right and left so they were a bit spread out. pcode thanks for listening! 80's, hm, i don't know about that, this is strictly 2011 material! LOL most of the 80's music i remember, used a lot of reverb, no reverbs here! some short delays, yes, but no caverns, no gated drums, no big hair! heheh

trucker yep, i changed that one section up to a completely different version, on my last session of mixing. usually, i record more parts than i know i will use. i'll explore 3 or 4 different versions of a section, and then decide later (when i'm wearing my producer hat) which one to use. the final version, ended up being the one i never really envisioned while i was tracking. imagine that. i've been working on a 'custom' drum kit, in my Superior Drummer program. i've got 3 versions of it, bone dry, natural room, and big room.... it'd be interesting to see how the new kit, would sit in the mix of these finished songs.... i built a custom kit for each and every song on the album, but i didn't spend that much time dialing it in.... and this is more dialed in to sounding more....... unique. haven't done any new tunes with it tho...
