"You have exceeded the max. number of posts you can make in a day for this forum" WTF?
Dear Cakewalk I recently received this message when I tried to post: I'm guessing that this is a rather pathetic strategy to try and reduce the amount of spam in these forums? Well I think it's a disgrace. Instead of actually doing your job in monitoring and policing the forum properly, you're happy to slap a blanket posting limit on everyone, and treat your loyal and long-time customers exactly as if we were potential spammers. It reeks of a half-arsed and apathetic approach to solving a problem that has nothing whatsoever to do with the vast majority of us who wouldn't dream of peddling crap like that in here. It's just like the pisspoor attitude of the local council and constabulary here in Worcester. There are speed humps in the road all over the place because a few arseholes want to drive past primary schools at 40~50mph. Instead of doing a bit of honest-to-goodness police work by arresting these pricks and then taking their driving licences away, they spend a fortune of my taxes putting concrete humps everywhere, so everybody, even the vast majority of us who drive safely, have to put up with the bloody things. I've actually taken the liberty of creating another user log-in, the first time I've even thought about doing so in nearly seven years of coming in here. So, next time I'm in the middle of a friendly conversation, or helping talk someone through a problem post by post, and I hit the limit, I'll be able to sign in with my new moniker and carry on the dialogue. I'm sorry, but I'm livid about this. And what good did this arbitrary 'limit' do this morning when "LiWu007" posted these adverts for fake watches: Please notice that I've just taken this screenshot - this crap has been in the Coffee House for 12-13 hours and still hasn't been removed, even though your loyal and friendly customers have flagged them all as spam, and reported them to a moderator. Come on guys, you're better than this travesty - please show us a bit more respect than treating us like morons. Take responsibility for dealing with the spam yourselves, instead of trying, and failing miserably, to prevent it by using this farcical method. Steve

I've personally been hit with three times in the past. I'm sure some welcome that for me. It seems that it might be count related. craigb said that when it hit me last I was at 60 posts in thre previous 24 hous. But, when it happened to Steve I counted his last 24 hours post count and it was 48. So maybe it's time related (as if one post in two minutes wasn't enough of pain in the arse)?

Well, if this thread does get locked or deleted, then at least we'll know for certain of the apathy at best, or at worst, contempt, that Cakewalk are happy to treat their paying customers with.

I say keep the limits elsewhere, but remove them from the Coffee House (the daily posting limit AND that ridiculous "You can't post that fast" limit).
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

It was probably some forum default that was there when they upgraded the forum software. I am quite sure that someone will review this likely by Monday morning and a process will begin to alter that limit. There are times when I have in the past sent out a flurry of posts, if helping folks on multiple threads, and I would certainly hate to lose the ability to help someone because of something like this post limit. Sorry you hit that - I'm sure they will do something about it when someone sees this post. Hang in there - your posts are a good addition to this forum :) Bob Bone

Bob, It's a new limit...before the new forum there were not limits...and even after the new forum, up until about a week or so ago, you could just post till the cows came home... Many speculate that it's an attempt to keep out "Spammers" or whatever... I personally find it laughable and offensive to my sensibilities...

Although there shouldn't be a limit, 48 posts for 24 hours are just too many, let alone 60. (unless you don't sleep at all)You have better things to do...

So... I've never hit the limit myself, but if I did, I'd just create an alternate account and post with that if I wanted to. no big deal. And it wouldn't upset me that there's a limit.
StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen. I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Sorry but you've left out the time to READ the existing posts in the thread and also posts that follow your post. Also, posts that don't take more than 2 minutes to create and post are usually not very informative. Just sayin'

So if my math is right, that would all add up to be, hmmmm, about 3 days and 28 minutes per day (out of our lives)... Can that be right? I may have misplaced a decimal point somewhere.

Well, it's actually a band pass that does the blocking, not a LPF. 1Hz to 120Hz band. I mean 1-120 seconds :p

Would defeat the objective, because for reasons best known to the software creators / forum admin you can mark your own post as helpful !
