real drummer dont like my synth drummer.so i need to learn drum mixing better??

yes i was just tryin to show the arangment. but i did some 3/4 beats on the chorus,
 and used 3 clips in all over the 8 part arangment.
 the overall sound of the zep kit with some basic Fx sounds great but as you said only a drummer can pick the fake flams and rimshots that i used , as i said i dint want to replace him just point him in the direction i wanted.
 but as a drummer would say he said. that sounds fake and it have no feel
 and he missed the point compleatly
so where can i get some good pointers on drum mixing
as since im here il ask. he put the tracks on a very nice portastudio then brings it to me and i pull them directly into sonar threw my 8 inputs on my sound card.
I tryed to use the dry mix but got ok results, im thinking of doing all the drum tweeks on the portastudio then the only other FX or comp would come from the master buss
just not shure the best way to go about doing realy nice live drums??
i need a drum mixing 101 class asap we go back to work this sunday so i have today to prep and practice, pretending to be a producer.i was thinkin of triggers also for live produtions bringing my x1{x2 when its patched} to gigs . but for now its all about a good mix and drums is where i need to start. then next week il be askin about bass

I would not take the drummers criticism too hard. I have seen so many cases of a drummer being threatened by just the presence of a drum machine in the room. Nothing ever will replace the feel and the groove and the sound of a great drummer playing on a great kit in a world class studio. Sadly, most of us don't have that luxury. Why not get your drummer involved in programming some beats with you. I bet it will be a great learning experience for both. If he is open to that. If not, keep programming and you will get better. I don't know any musician that it didn't help to know better what is happening in the beat. I have always mocked my songs for the band to learn. It always helped to learn the song quicker and the players always come up with creative changes that improved my original idea. I don't use the technology to replace musicians. I try to use it to better communicate my vision of the song. BTW, I use Superior Drummer aand I have a lot of their librarys. I find most of the preset midi patterns in most all of these programs are always too busy. Try finding a pattern that is similar to what you want and try stripping it down some to make it more solid. I happen to know how to play drums so it is fairly easy for me to program what I want. That's why i suggested get with your drummer and ask him for help on how to make your programming better. As long as he understands he is not being replaced I bet he'll help you out.
