    wow...great interview..i also miss the daYs of a box making sounds..you grew to become to love that box..where as know i dont have that same connection to session drummer..i mean session drumer has probably some of the best samples ive had.but i dont love it like i loved by yammaha rx5 or my alesis sr-16..i cherish those things..and still use my sr16 to trigger sessioon drummer now..because the work flow is awsome..thanks for posting this..brought back some hey days.

    Liked it. Brought back memories of my first drum machine. I had just worked my first job over the summer (meaning the first job that the IRS knew about) and saved up to buy a Korg DDD-1 with the sampler add-on.  I think the sampler gave about 1 second of sample time.

    I remember the salesman told me how to sample a snare drum by recording it in the shower to get all those tight tile reflections. I gave it a try and whaddya know? It worked.

    I still have it, but haven't turned it on in years. Guess I'll have to dig it out.
