rebuilding take lanes??

In X2, I have multiple take lanes for a VOX track. Recording additional tracks has caused a lane to contain multipl takes. I thought that a separate lane would be built for the takes. I no longer see a ommand to rebuild/build additional lanes from what exists. Thoughts on how to get these clips in their own lane without dragging them?

Think you're stuck with dragging them.

Personally, I'd drag the clips you want to a new track, but others might have more elegant solutions

CW TS is bugging this up. I have crate separate lanes on overlap checked. Looks like that ignores straight recording and works for loop recording.

I avoid this by manually adding new lanes if the part isn't going to overlap a previous take. That seems to make any new audio land in the new lane. It shouldn't be this way but it's not a big deal to to me to click the little plus button before recording my new part. The weird thing is sometimes a new lane will be created automatically but other times it won't. There is certainly room for improvement.

I've been meaning to try adding a bunch of empty lanes to see if new, non overlapping audio lands in the new lanes automatically but I haven't been tracking at all for over the past month or so as I study. I don't even sit in front of the DAW while studying anymore because I'm working on general mixing concepts as opposed to Sonar functionality.

Some day I'll actually make some music with all this stuff. lol

Yeah, I find there is definitely room for improvement in X2. It has some good ideas, but the beta testing/DEV coordination/release timing could be better.

My recently reported issues do not seem to be a new requirement, but degredation of an old standard IMO.

Recently, if I've been loop recording in a futile attempt to nail the "perfect" take, I use the "Store Takes in Different Tracks" option, and ignoring lanes altogether.

This gives me all the flexibility that I need and makes multing a breeze
