you need to record on a MIDI track and not an audio track.

on your OPEN project.. Insert> MIDI track.  Set Iinput/output parameters on the track.... you'll need to select a sound source, etc.

a bit too much to describe if this is all new to you.  The manual should take you thru step by step.  Probably a tuturiol also.

    Hi akira-

First: Your input is a Stereo Mic to an Audio Track, not your MIDI input device to a MIDI Track. Insert a MIDI track and set your input to your MIDI device.

You arm it just like an audio track. tutorials 2 and 8 and the section of the manual called soft synths is a good start for learning. Yuo also need a soft synth to convert the midi data into audio, so you can hear the midi data you recorded.

Is this a hardware electric piano, or a softsynth? Either way, you'll find good info in the documentation, but it does make a difference.
