It is audio dropout. Many things can cause it. Buffer size, memory, hard drive speed, background processes and so on. Please, post more information.

Well...  I don't know the DM-3200, or your computer specs, or your buffer settings, so it's a little hard to trouble shoot.

Firstly, look at your buffer settings.  If you're not using "input monitoring", then increase them.

Secondly, maybe try recording at 44.1kHz or 48kHz.

Thirdly, list your computer specs in your profile's signature, and I'm pretty sure someone will be able to sort your recording problem out.

You might also disable any plug-ins by clicking the PDC button, or manually disabling them.
If your buffer settings in Sonar are ample enough (if you have to go above 512, for example), make sure you don't have an Anti-Virus scan running in the background.

Has your system been working OK before this happened or is this your first use of all this gear?

Has anything changed on your system recently?

Please do not do anything mentioned in the above article.

Firstly, it is for Windows 8, not XP?

Secondly, there is no need to tweak like this unless you REALLY know what you are doing. Follow some of the other advice given above first, or you may end up with a DAW that does not work at all.

If you experience further problems, please include you proper PC specs in the question.
Including HDD type, amount of RAM, OS type (64/32 bits) etc. It's practical to put them in your signature.
There are many things that can lead to drop outs. If your PC just hardly exceeds the minimum requirements, it doesn't mean the road is open to everything.

Recording 8 tracks simultaneously at 96 kHz, for example, sets requirements to HDD speed and so on.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

running in 32/bit,and actually its more than what the mini that the x1 calls for..?  i'm know comp. nerd but x1 is only calling for 2.67 ghz, man i'm  doing 2.93 ghz @2gb/ram????????you telling me that's not faster???

That 2 Gb of RAM is the weakest point there.
2.93 is faster than 2.67, but the difference is marginal. You are running on a minimum system, so you can expect some kind of glitches here and there, and you can not use the software/your soundcards all inputs to their full capacity.
You need to "move carefully", so to say.
I'm in the same situation with my system, and I'm doing ok cause I've learned where the limits go.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

The processor SPEED isn't all that counts. Older processors with a 2.7 speed can be slower than newer processors with the same 2.7 speed. The easiest way to check this is to google "passmark <insert cpu and speed here> and compare the results.

Free phone support is available for the current version and previous.

You're likely going to need to up your disk write buffers and increase the i/o audio buffer size if you're trying to multitrack on a slower system.
