Step 1: Forum Agreement |
A Peer to Peer Based Forum The Cakewalk Forums are a web-based community provided by Cakewalk to encourage interaction between owners of Cakewalk products.
In this peer-to-peer environment, forum users are encouraged to answer questions, share experiences and give advice to their fellow users. While Cakewalk employees may occasionally post information, they are not expected to provide technical support or other official replies in the forum. Note - This doesn’t reflect a change in policy. Cakewalk forums and newsgroups have always been P2P based.
How to Contact Cakewalk All official product inquiries and technical support should be conducted via email or telephone. See your product manual, help file or the support web page for specific contact information.
In short, we encourage you to tap into the expertise concentrated in this forum. The forum and its users are an amazing resource. But if you wish to conduct Technical Support or other official business with a Cakewalk employee, please email or call.
Moderator Intervention Cakewalk has the right, but not the obligation, to monitor and/or moderate the Cakewalk Forums. Cakewalk reserves the right to change any or all other parts of this User Agreement at its sole discretion and without notice, including but not limited to implementing Rules of Conduct, Terms of Service and/or other measures.
The Cakewalk Moderator’s goal is not to play Forum cop. They will make occasional changes and comments. We encourage you to send comments and suggestions using the report abuse tool in the main forum page.
By registering with the Cakewalk Forum, users agree that any post the moderators consider inappropriate may be removed at the moderator’s sole discretion. Use of the Cakewalk Forums is a privilege, not a right. Cakewalk also has the right, at its sole discretion, to revoke board privileges at any time without notice.
Questionable Content These are public forums and we ask that you behave as you would if you were in a public place. These issues are left to the discretion of the moderator, but may include any material that is knowingly false or defamatory, misleading, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, that otherwise violates any law, or that encourages conduct constituting a criminal offense.
Cakewalk is not responsible for messages posted on the Cakewalk Forums or the content therein. Unless expressly stated otherwise, this includes messages posted by Cakewalk personnel, agents, representatives et al.
Copyrighted Material Cakewalk forum users agree not to post any material that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the permission of the owner(s) of said copyright, trademark or other proprietary right.
Racial, Sexual, and Religious Attacks The Cakewalk forums are a large, diverse community. Please realize other posters are likely to hold different opinions than you. Since we embrace diversity and creativity, any attacks or hateful speech regarding race, religion, or sexual preference will not be tolerated, and repeat offenders will be banned.
Flaming, Bashing, and Trolling Hate posts and personal attacks will not be tolerated on the Cakewalk forum. Treat other forum members as you would like to be treated. Unproductive trash talk will be met with criticism and possible disciplinary action including banishment. The same rules apply to trolling – or posting topics specifically to provoke a negative response.
Profanity We encourage users of all age groups and beliefs, so please refrain from using offensive language.
What’s acceptable? If it’s a word you hear on primetime network TV, it’s probably acceptable.
Replacing a few letters with an asterisk or other symbols is not allowed.
Adult Content We encourage users of all age groups and beliefs so please keep any images in the PG-13 category or they will be deleted, and the user warned.
Spam Spamming the Cakewalk forum with senseless, inane, or empty messages to increase your post count, or simply to aggravate, will not be allowed.
This includes such things as chain letters and two-word "I agree" or "me too" responses. Continually posting the same topic on a particular board, and posting the same question across several forums is also considered spamming, and is a violation of this TOS.
Advertising Cakewalk does not allow any form of advertising, therefore promoting websites or products in the forum is inappropriate. Hyperlinks to 3rd party web sites are allowed only if they pertain directly to the discussion topic.
Piracy and Warez Cakewalk has a very strict policy against piracy and the illegal use of copyrighted material. Linking or giving information about any site that distributes illegal software, seeking help in circumventing copyright laws, possessing or distributing illegal copyrighted material, or encouraging software or media piracy are all grounds for account termination. This goes for all copyrighted material, including but not limited to software, music, videos and games.
Please do not post serial numbers or CD keys in the Forums. We do not want to give people with illegal copies of Cakewalk the ability to register.
Impersonating Other Users, Accessing Another User's Account, Holding Multiple Usernames You may not impersonate another forum member. Accessing someone else's account or attempting to access another poster's account is strictly prohibited. Users are restricted to a single username.
Off-Topic Posts There are many forums available for posts, each with a specific focus. Off-topic posts will be moved to the proper forum, and further action may be taken against repeat offenders. |
