reinstall VS100 drivers for win 7 , 64bit , latest 2.0 - The may be a problem error-HELP
Hi everyone, 1st time poster, long term user... Searched high and low for someone with the same problem but can't find it... Easy problem Tried to reinstall VS100 drivers for win 7 , 64bit , latest 2.0 after updating firmware to 1.5 , and drivers as well from the orignal install CD. no matter what i get , the may be a problem error, to install the driver please execute uninstal.exe etc etc etc i hit close, and then it asks to uninstall - yes uninstall - restart ANd them i'm back where i started , - the driver is not installed at all in the remove menu, and revo uninstaller can't find a trace of it, yet the installer still refuses to budge. I followed directions, even tried the 1.5 driver install/uninstall , to no avail. THe computer even recognises the usb when i plug it in, but can't install the drivers.... I'm stuck, please help ugh (AMD 64x2, 2gig ram)

Finally fixed it by myself..............aright With Windows 7 , all you got to do is plug it in, and then load up device manager, scan for hardware changes and then update the drivers manually, worked for me and will work for you. Looks like Cakewalk's setup.exe needs a 2.1 or extra line on the help menu - took me hours ! HAPPY MUSIC MAKING :)(:

It's kick ass - next best thing since sliced bread. I've only had it about 2 months , and it's a really awesome unit, besides that hiccup i posted above. I have in the past an m-audio profire 2626 which never worked thanks to the crap drivers M-audio firewire , same thing again and before that hootech which i was the most productive on. Finally something that works - and you don't need a computer to record mixes and replace them and record over the top :)

chuckebaby im thinking of picking up a v-studio..how do you like it? I've used the VS-100 for nearly a year now - made the switch from a Delta 44 and external 12 channel mixer. Like Marky Mark says - it's kick ass! I love mine. The pre's are excellent, really crisp and clean. It also runs seamlessly with Sonar and I love having the transport. I built a custom footswitch for mine as well, so I can start/stop with one button and record in/out with another button - great for a guitar player with no free hands to push play or record :) I know Sonar has auto punch, but having the option of foot control is something I'm used to from the old Porta-Studio days.
Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take! Desktop: Win 7 Pro 64 Bit , ASUS MB w/Intel Chipset, INTEL Q9300 Quad Core, 2.5 GHz, 8 GB RAM, ATI 5450 Video Laptop: Windows 7 Pro, i5, 8 Gig Ram Hardware: Presonus FP10 (Firepod), FaderPort, M-Audio Axiom 49, Mackie 1202 VLZ, POD X3 Live, Variax 600, etc... etc...

Buy one, I have had mine for 6 mos now and I love it!bit of a learning curve though. I finally can record my guitar tracks and my VST plug in's with no issues. I just joined forum tonight, because I have been working on my studio set up with the VS-100. To get great results I use windows 7 ultimate32 bit, a Nocturn 49 keyboard, samson resolv monitors, and samson mics. At first I was on the vista platform and had nothing but problems. Had to switch to Windows 7 to get anywhere! The new drivers for 7 work great. Just a LARGE learning curve as far as recording with SONOR, but in my opinion the help topics in SONAR are fine along with a little trial and error. I was a cubase user before and I like the Sonor VS much better. Cakewalk has got it together.
