reloading bun files

When reloading previously recorded bun files, they now overload my system and will drop out or will play with audio glitches in it. Also, the video screen does not move along smoothly as it did when I mixed the file. What settings might have changed to cause this and what are my options in eliminating this. I had some work done on my computer recently and since then, I have had this problem.
