removing tracks

How do you simply remove a track that you've added in Sonar VS? I have used music creator 2 in the past and then home studio 6 XL and now have Sonar producer x1, but am not used to using VS. I know you don't have to use them all of course, but still-I just like to get some tracks out the way sometimes and not just sitting there taking up space.... :)
 
usually you can simply delete the track, but I'm surprisingly unsure how to simply remove a vocal or midi track after adding one.
 
I know you can just select a take or recording and hit the delete button and voila, but if you select or click on a track box and hit delete it doesn't do anything and if you right click on it-I don't think it allows you to delete it either that way.
 
Just wondering what you do.
