render operation cancelled before completion X1
I've never had any problem exporting audio to a wave file. however, now that there is a serious deadline (of course), I receive the "render operation cancelled before completion" message and no audio will export at all. The dialog comes up so quickly its as if the file never tried to export or render at all. Thoughts?

I had this happen not long ago and am scratching my head trying to remember my situation. What the project like? A lot of tracks, slip edits, loads of clips on tracks, ...? Try bouncing the those tracks to clips and see what happens

This is the simplest thing I've had in a really long time. I imported and audio file that was pulled from an AVI video. Duplicated the track so I would have the original then just rolled off low end eq, created a volume envelope, tried to export. Only one stereo track. No midi. I tried the bounce and it seemed to work fine but still won't export. The only troubleshoot I have not done is to open another project then export it. Since I pulled the audio out of an AVI video is it possible that some type of corruption has taken place?

If you can play the audio, you can be reasonably sure it's not corrupt. Every time I've seen SONAR abort an export it's been from memory exhaustion.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Thanks. Thought about that as well but I have 16gb of ram and all is showing fine in Sonar and systems performance issues are excellent. I just tried to output a different project that is only midi and I ran into the same issue. Have rebooted the system, all 16gb of ram are showing up. I have never experienced this issue on this system or my previous system. Is there some sort of memory dump available in X1?

If this is a time sensitive issue you might want to call Cakewalk today before they close for the weekend. That said... Any VST effects in the project? Try safe mode and disable/enable them one at a time to see if that's the problem. If you are using Fast Bounce in the Export dialog try turning it off. Try exporting using different export settings. Like set it up so you are only getting what's coming out of the Mains. Then try just exporting the Master Bus or an new bus with the track routed to it. If it's a single stereo track try just exporting that track. Might shake something loose. Can you bounce the track? Maybe you can bounce it with the effects and everything to a new track and just access the raw wave and use that as your final product. If you need to convert it further like change the samplerate or bit depth toss it into Audio Creator or Audacity or something. Just some random ideas. That's a weird problem. Good luck.

What kind of file did it pull from the AVI file. My only other thought would be to convert that file to a wave before importing it and then try your edits and export

Thanks all for your input. Not sure why but in the end I was able to output this only using main outs and not the master bus.

I just had the same problem with the rendering along with dropouts on a project that I am working on. I have never had the problem of not being able to render, either at playback or quick bounce. Searching for a solution. Could it be he M-Audio Firewire Solo?? HP Elite 7000 Core I5 2.66 Ghz 4 gig ram Windows 7 32-bit service pack 1 M-Audio Fire Wire Solo
