re-opening a Cakewalk CWP or Bundle doesn't work in CW5?

Recorded a bundle file last night.
Trying to open it in cwmc5.
When I open the program, I click on "open" and existing project. The unpack bundle window comes up that shows what to open.
When I click it to open, I get "This file already exists, please choose a different project name"

???

I'm not renaming anything, or resaving anything, just trying to open an existing file.
Why would it do this? I can dig around and import the wav files, but that's kind of a hassle. I just want to open a project.

I don't know barry - that's a new one on me.  is this a CWB (bundle file)?  it shouldn't start trying to "unpack" unless it's a bundle file

I've had that very thing happen..... don't know why...it just does....

all I do is name it  "Old Song Title version 2"  that way it opens...saves...and I keep working.

    no biggie.

    This is probably what's happening:

You created a project (Let's say you named the project AAA)

Now you have a cwp file called AAA.cwp

You then saved it as a cwb file and named that file AAA. This saves the file as AAA.cwb

Now when you click on the AAA.cwb file (the bundled file) to unpack it, there is already a file named AAA.cwp file (your project file) on your computer because that was the original file you started with.

When you click on a bundled file to unpack it, it unpacks it and turns it into a project file. If there is already a project file by the same name on your computer (actually in the same folder you're trying to unpack it to) you'll receive this error message because it's already there.

If you want you can delete the original project file from your computer and then unpack the bundled file. I don't know why you want to do that though if it's already there.

If you're going to save something as a "Bundled" file you should save it to a different folder than the folder you have set as the default location for your Project Folder. To figure out where your project files are stored you can go to Options > Global > Click on the "Folders" tab and then look under "Project FIles". Don't save a bundled file to that same location.

Okay- With MC3 that issue never happened. You'd tell it what you want to open and it'd open it (cwb or project). Not sure why it's different now...

Usually I save a bundle file at the end of the project Since I've been having issues with CWMC5 I figured I'd save my cwp as a cwb. Wasn't an issue before, you'd just click either one and they'd open. Now, it doesn't work like that.
