reset a project?!?!
Is there anyway just to reset a project as in bypass all effects and envelopes etc? rather than bypassing. You know when you want to do a fresh remix of something starting from scratch again is easiest? Cian

never thought of that but... it is an interesting idea.... It would come in handy for those projects where you have cooked and stirred and added so much stuff to a project in the hope of making it sound good that it is now well past the point of an easy fix and it's better to start again with bare tracks. I have done that very thing....and I took the time to manually remove every plug and envelope so I could start again from square one.

Hmmmm... the only way I know to do it is Start a new Project and copy your old clips to the new one. Of course if you have any Clip FX in 'em, they would get copied too I suppose.... I dunno...

When done recording I always save it as "projectX Startmix", then start my mix and save that as "mix1". This way I can always go back to my "startmix" project which will be a clean slate. Otherwise I do not now how to globally delete track envelopes and plugs.

Ok guys, thanks. I guess its no biggie to remove plugs and solo each track to sit in the mix right again. Problem is mike, I have a terrible problem of mixing while I track, often the track is never finished yet I have it half sonically polished already, so the save at start thing rarely works for me! you can right click on an FX bin and select "bypass bins of this type" in both the track bins and the bus bins (separately since they are different "types). that would remove all FX from the tracks/busses to start over. they'd still BE there and you could re-enable them one by one or delete them as desired.

Next time before you do any edits or add effects and envelopes, do a "Save As" and then you will always have a copy of the original project with nothing in it. You can make as many versions as you wish. Cj

To globally delete all automation press ctrl + A to select all, then select Edit-->Delete special. Uncheck everything except automation and click on okay. The PC can be reset easily. Ctrl + A to select all again, hold down the ctrl key and load the "Misc-Full reset" preset into one of the tracks. The FX bin you'll need to do one at a time. I always save a tracking finished version and then mixes after that so I've always got a starting point to go back to.

I should have been a little clearer, that my post was referring to emptying them completely. AFAIK that has to be done one at a time.
