    Incredible.

It gives an abstracted insight into what happens in a "plate" reverb.

I couldn't help but wonder if the patterns at the tones that we all use now from the equal temperment look more chaotic than those from just intonation...

Interesting stuff.  I'm mildly surprised that no pattern showed up for A-440.

This sort of reminds me of how some exotic substances allow one to see music... IIRC.

I noticed that only certain frequencies produced the patterns, BUT ..... if the plate was a different size, I suspect that the patterns would have formed at different frequencies and with different shapes at those frequencies. It was after all, a study in resonance and we know that resonance is a function of the size of the object or space.

I guess it will have to do.  But isn't that Arse-onance?

I think that's called the "Ed's Head" resonance.

I've seen that many acoustic guitar builders record
the results when making the tops.

Also seen them sing into the sound-hole to find the
resonate pitch...the hole can be resized for changes.

Yes ... these patterns are very cool.  I wonder if the complexity of what you are seeing arises from the overtones (at least in part)?  Are we looking at a visual presentation of the timbre of that materials being used?  It would be nice to see not only different (as you say) size and shape but different materials.
