ripping sample cds

After you've ripped a sample cd to a WAV file, is it possible to chop it up & make loops like they do in this video?

If so, is it possible to do with Sonar 5, or will I have to upgrade to Sonar X1?

I used to do something like this, I think it was with Sonar. There is an algorithm that will remove the silence between the loops. But I don't remember what it was like to save the samples, if I had to name each one individually or if it had the auto naming feature.

If it had the auto naming feature, I would think I would remember (as that is something I really liked in that video).

The ability to export them all to a particular folder was nice as well.

Yes, you can do all that in SONAR. Use AudioSnap for the part where he sets the timeline to the wave's tempo. You can convert your wave files to groove clips, which are normal wave files but with some metadata added that allow them to be dropped into any project and adapt to its tempo.

And that's about the extent of my knowledge of looping, sorry.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
