Foreground stuff playing melody snippets, i was hearing three note staccato runs also with a long decay trail of either a long amp envelope decay, long reverb or delay kind. Also, sound effecty punctuations in the back to midground which occur only a couple of times throughout the piece or maybe only once.
The way i hear this piece- you've created a perfect world but it only has a couple of inhabitants.

RE: Chilled track (macmurphy)

Thanks for the comments everyone, they're very much appreciated!
I'll stick to using Amazing Tunes to host my files in future, thanks for letting me know about the problems with Megaupload.
Opaque- could you suggest what flavour garnish would complete the dish?

Be Good
Neil

RE: Chilled track (ToneCarver)

A nice full soundscape, interesting textures. Gentle but steady evolution. Nice work. Good use of the stereo width too.

Bill

RE: Chilled track (lhansen)

mac,
Thanks for making it easy this time aroud. As I listened at first, I was starting to feel disappointed and bored with the song, UNTIL everything exploded wonderfully. Now I'm happy. This is a good composition! I normally don't listen to this style of music, but you did a good job with this. I won't comment on the mix, as Nick alreday pointed some areas that need polishing.

RE: Chilled track (opaque slogan)

Absolutely beautiful sounds, great mix. I think the track is excellent but just lacking in the right amount of detail. It doesn't sound way off finished, it just lacks garnish here and there. Nice Autechre style drum mangles.

EDIT. And yes i filled in the code and went through the whole process but when Real player loaded it said "file not found..."

RE: Chilled track (macmurphy)

Did you fill in the three letter code next to the megaupload logo?
It should work fine!
I've uploaded it to Amazing Tunes as well, anyway.
