Nothing connected to pin 2.  Also have a bass amp with an unbalanced XLR input, and those ultra cheap condenser mics Karma were selling as a promo stunt for $.99 have nothing connected to pin 3. That has to do with how the devices on each end agree to send the signal down the cable.
