On the Proteus GUI press the red button (top left) that says 1-16. This will display all 16 channels. Press a key on your midi keyboard. You should see midi activity on one of the midi channels.

Bingo! I'm stumped. Oh, I'm using Win XP Pro.
Thanks again.

RE: MIDI controller won't play Proteus X LE sounds (VinylJunkie)

When using the Proteus as a VST you have to load the sounds into the synth.

Insert the Proteus synth into a project, then;

From the Proteus GUI, select: File> Open > Proteus X Composer

You should now be able to trigger the sounds from your midi keyboard - assuming everything is routed correctly. You need a midi track with the input set to your keyboard and output set to Proteus. We just went through an extensive exercise with Proteus VX, which is a repackaged version of Proteus X LE. It may be of help.
Proteus VX thread
What OS are you using? It seems to be hit and miss with Vista.

MIDI controller won't play Proteus X LE sounds (Pickngrin)

I just got my first MIDI controller -- don't laugh -- a Prodikeys (USB). I can play DreamStation DXi2 sounds triggered by the keyboard, but Proteus X LE sounds won't play -- I'm getting default Prodikeys sounds. I can't figure out what's wrong here. Any ideas?

Thanks.
