Thanks vassa but after a couple of days of pulling my hair out, I got it to work for some reason it wont do it in the cell library and will only work in the battery kits 1-3, it wont drag and drop onto a single pad, althou I hav nt tried just dragging and dropping from the battery kits, appreciate you lending a hand thou, this got me worried for a while, this was the whole point of me getting this program.

Cryo pretty much explained how it's done but if you want another visual aid try this it may shed a bit more light on how it's done. You're basically watching us learn what Cryo has said. We like this " />

To be honest it was figure it out as it goes, based on what Cryo had posted, so the first half is not as good as the second half. But it may give you a better idea of how to do it.

ye I just watched a youtube vid that described the same method as you did apert from you drag and drop onto the pad, so I tried that and it still wont do it, can you only do it with certain samples or something or do you have to use samples from the same kit althou, I have tried that and that did nt work, mmm im not sure what im doing wrong seems pretty straight forward.
I hope its just a button I need to press.

hey cryo, I have just been trying your methods out and this seems like the best way apart from I cant get it to work properly lol most of the time when im trying to add to the sample I have chosen it does nt add the sample it just changes the sample in the pad, it did work for me a couple of times I add two together then when I went to add another it reset and change the original sample, it sucks im not getting this right cause I like this method because as you said you can preview the samples first, i'l keep messing with it and try the other ways too.

Oh yeah, I should mention that there are a few other easy ways to layer samples. One is to just drag samples from your desktop or folder onto the zone grids in the Mapping tab, or onto the pad. Another is to right-click in the zones (i.e., where the sample columns appear) in the Mapping tab, choose 'Add Zone', and navigate to the sample that you want. The reason I prefer using the browser method I described above is that I can preview the sample (i.e., hear it) before I add it.

The way I layer them is like this:

- select the pad that I to assign the samples to
- click on the Browser tab
- navigate to the first sample that I want
- double-click the sample in the browser to assign it to the pad
- repeat the previous two steps for the other samples that I want to layer, making sure that the same pad is still selected (NOTE: only the first sample name will appear in the cell, but the samples should be assigned)
- once you have the samples that you want layered assigned to a pad, click on the Mapping tab and you should see each of your samples arranged in columns
- to adjust the mapping of a sample, select its corresponding column (it will turn yellow) and you'll see arrows appear on the top/bottom; drag the arrows to the velocity zone that you want and/or make the additional adjustments in the relevant fields immediately above the mapping grid.

Hey guys and gals,

Just having a bit of struggle with battery, Im starting to try and layer my drums and I cant get more than 1 sample in the mapping zone, the part were the samples go (yup as you can see in down with the jargon) I have tried dragging and dropping cutting and pasting, holding down shift etc and I cant seem to find anything in the manual, I must be missing something thou, I have asked in the battery forum but no reply. Im thinking this is really easy to do and im being a noob.
