(Pavlos)

Yes , its true ,beatscape seems promising but yet full of bugs and cons.
Remember that Sonar started with just loop explorer .
The imigration must be into loop explorer and not in beatscape.
You must be able to add loops that Sonar will auto sync to project's BPM .
Listen to them realtime auto syncing to project's bpm and passed thru a Bus of your own effects , all these with realtime playback along with the project.
Able to categorize the loops in different folders for faster searching , and even a search field would be awesome.

there are many ideas guys but Cakewalk is lazy to do .
they are really lazy or they are having lack of imagination . These things should be there before 4 years , not now !!!!!!!!!!!

Re:Loop Explorer + Beatscape...Imagine the possibilities! (Treefight)

I think you're right on the money. Beatscape is cool, but I also have a zillion loops I never use (from all those magazines, like 150 gb worth) and wow, would that be cool, convenient, and creatively inspiring to be able to simply click, drag, and go with all of that content.

I'm wondering if there is a workaround already possible? Frankly, it's such a good idea, if there isn't a workaround, they should make this a late addition to S9!

Re:Loop Explorer + Beatscape...Imagine the possibilities! (tecknot)

This is exactly how I use Project 5, with its Groove Matrix, rewired into SONAR. I load up the GM with desired loops and save it as a P5 project, then open it up in SONAR. Viola! You can drag and drop from P5's Loop Explorer right into the GM. However, I don't think P5 does Rex files. Anyhow, it (GM) does audio and MIDI. Pretty cool. You should consider this combination (eventhough P5 is no longer in developement, it still works).

Kind regards,

tecknot
Loop Explorer + Beatscape...Imagine the possibilities! (e.Blue)

I love playing with loops in Loop Explorer!...there I said it! (...I'm feeling better already) <img src="http://forum.cakewalk.com/upfiles/smiley/s3.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" /> Loop Explorer is really fun to use to play around with various loop combinations...but it currently has one MAJOR caveat. The loops being auditioned must all reside within the same folder. If you try to change folders the loops stop playing...

I've also played around with Beatscape and really had high hopes for it. However, currently its file management makes it almost painful to use for any amount of time.

A while back I discovered a cool 'trick', you can actually drag loops from Loop Explorer's window and drop them onto pads in Beatscape.

This discovery got me to thinking...

Wouldn't it be really cool if both Loop Explorer and Beatscape were combined into one product/plugin?! Then you could not only audition various loop combinations but actually 'save' them for later recall without needing to create an entire .CWP file just to save loop combinations. This could be a HUGE time saver when working with clients, instead of loading up separate .CWP files, you could just load up 'loop groups' from within one project. It would basically be like having a mini-MPC/Stylus/Ableton Live inside of Sonar.

Ideally, this mashup plugin would support ALL of the various loop formats (Acid,WAV,REX) and also be smart enough to automatically 'Groove Loop' standard wave files (ala Sony Acid) . It should allow you to quickly audition a loop at its natural tempo/pitch as well manually override the number of detected beats. It should also allow you to audition loops being browsed (in context with the other loops) without needing to load them onto a pad first (...ala Stylus)

I know I'm not asking for too much because Sonar basically supports all of these features right now, currently they're just spread across multiple plugins/utilities

Its probably too late to get this into the next release of Sonar, but I would actually rather they spent an entire year getting it right. I have a feeling that if they do, new users would flock to Sonar 10 in droves.

..Any thoughts..?

-eB
