talked to the tecks they said to run the 32 bit instead of the 64. tried it and havn't had a problem since... something to do with vista ultimate. also i was having a problem with my liniar eq... locking up the program and shutting it down... they said it was a known problem and a fix would be out toward the end of the month. but so far no fix for the boost 64
Re:problems with boost 64 (Zo)

i keep the same , i ain't going to low even if can ...it really depends on what' you're doing , the only recordin i make is when i record vocals (usin direct monitoring so no latencie issues) but for exemple if you're a guitar or live drummer with plugins sounds , low latencie is appreciated , now with the "bypass all racks of this sort" you can bypass all fx , record and then enable them ....cause you have the latenie of the audio soundcard and latencie created by some plugin (ex : transient shaper witch introduce crazy latencies !!)
Re:problems with boost 64 (smoochy)

we'll find out... talked to techs... the problem seems to be a little deeper he's going to get back to me about it....

in the mean time i am trying to fool around with latency settings. tell me, do you decrease your latency wile recording and then increase when playing back or pretty much keep it the same? or is it more a project dependency adjustment?
Re:problems with boost 64 (Zo)

DOES INCREASIN YOUR LATENCY SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM ?
Re:problems with boost 64 (smoochy)

using 64bit.... i also forgot to mention that I'm also getting a fair amount of glitching during playback. the project tends to studder once or twice each time i play it from beginning to end. never in the same spot. the activity monitor for the CPU with like twenty tracks only reads about 20% so it doesn't appear to be a overloading problem? with the demo song called guilty by unified tribe which is like 40 tracks playing back the CPU activity is only at about 35%. the computer is dedicated to sonar. i don't have any other programs on it other than sonar. I've disabled the on board sound card in the bias and i only use the internet for updating windows and sonar and always disable the internet and all the security features wile using sonar. do i need to adjust settings in my bias to allow more dedication to sonar? I'm getting a little frustrated. I'm using only the best gear... no cheap stuff. i read that stuffing the synth rack to much will cause problems but like i said i never even come close to using up the CPU power. plus this happens even on a stereo master project running nothing but a sterio audio track with a few mastering plug ins

v studio
sonar pro 8.5 64 bit
asus p6t delux mother board
ocz platnum ddr3 ram 12 gig
intel i7-920 chip
1,000 watt hi end power supply
1 tb sata hard drive
ati radeon series 4800 graphics card pcie
2- sata dvd drives
all power for the stuieo setup is through top of the line furman power conditioners running on it's own dedicated circuit

when ever i insert it it works fine but if i attempt to change the other plug ins the audio drops out... the meters pin on the boost64 but all the other meters indicate normally but no sound...it only corrects it's self when i close the project and reopen it. i thought it was a matter of too many plug ins but when i attempted to do a master two track using only the stereo track with the linear eq, the vintage compressor and the boost (regular mastering chain) it continues to happen. i never experienced this problem prior to 8.5. i'm not sure if it's a driver conflict or a software glitch with the boost plug in or what?

i also recently upped my ram to 12 gig...could this be an issue?
running an assus p6tdelux with an i7 920
using vista 64 ultimate
