(Steve Cox [Cakewalk])

Hi TAL,
SONAR LE will be able to mimic a loudspeaker. The easiest thing to do is use one of the EQ's bundled in SONAR LE as a real time plug-in. Just right-click in the FX field of an audio track to add one of the EQ's on the Audio FX list. You'll want to cut out the low end by using a High Pass Filter.

You'll need to rip those noise tracks from the CD as WAV files, then import them into SONAR. You can use pyro Audio Creator for this or many other free CD ripping programs out there.

The best way to get started is by using the tutorials. Try going to Help | Help Topics | Contents | Getting Started and go through the tutorials. Not all of the tutorials will have associated project files with them.

There are some great tutorial books, DVDs, and videos available here:
http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/Books/SONAR.asp
http://www.digitalmusicdo...ller/index.php?crn=208
http://www.youtube.com/pr..e?user=CakewalkSoftware

Best Regards,

Cakewalk newbie and speaker measuring? (TAL)

Hi all,

I haven't even installed the software yet, the LE version came bundled with the mike I just bought, so I wanted to know if it would be suitable for what I'm trying to do.

I *think* that a CD I have with pink and white noise tracks, plus the mike, would be enough to give me a representation of a loudspeaker frequency response. With suitable capture software such as Cakewalk LE maybe?

It doesn't matter to me about the absolute accuracy of the result. Only the method needs to be accurate, in order to repeat and compare.

Any thoughts? Any plugins needed? Will they plug into LE or do I need full version? Or something else entirely, like Audacity?

Cheers
Tal
