(RA1222)

Yup, its now checked as Console (VS700). Before, though it said Console (VS700) in the box, the draw down menu kept having DV-7 checked and I couldn't uncheck it. Perhaps, with everything being shut down and restarted, it corrected itself.
Re:700-C kinda working??? There are no check boxs in the Controllers/Surfaces dropdown menu.
Uncheck everything in Midi devices except the Console, the Fantom, and IO Midi.
Re:700-C kinda working??? (Jeff Evans)

Ok you need to go to the Controller/Surfaces Menu. Make sure that V700 Console is in both the In port and the Out port columns. You will see that it is one and not the other. You are getting one way communication only. When you have V700 console selected in both columns you should get communication both ways.

Sometimes this happens and for some odd reason it does this. If you ever get problems with the communication between the console and Sonar this is the place to check first.

Also note that in the Midi Devices menu there is one thing that should NOT be ticked and that is IO (VS-700) port. This is not the same as IO MIDI (VS-700) which does need to be ticked if you want to use the Midi IN/OUT ports on the VS 700R

Its all a little confusing that but once you get used to it then its fine.

Good thing I am in Australia an awake to help while everyone else is asleep over there! Good luck and let me know how you go.

700-C kinda working??? (RA1222)

Yesterday, I was able to get the drivers installed and had everything hooked up. The 700-C appeared to be rockin' and a rollin' when I loaded "Room for Clarity" (from the previously purchased Sonar 8). Today, I turned everything on, the faders jumped into place and I hit the start button -- nothing. I use the mouse and start the song on the screen and it works fine. The console seems show the metering of some tracks. I couldn't adjust anything on the 700 Console. I used my mouse to lower the Master volume and the fader on the console drops, too. But, when I use the fader -- nothing. Is there something I am missing?

I restarted Sonar and the same thing is happening. Everthing seems to be showing on the Console but the Console has no control. Again, I adjusted some of the faders in the Mixer view and the faders on the Console respond the same way. So, I am sorta stumped, here.
