thanks, i saw that last night and his tip about opening the mixer, panning the mics hard to one side before dragging the groove over to the clips window, that was golden. I could solo the tracks then and easily figure out which had sound, and which did not.

yeah thats it i think. Mono splits the left and right of each multi-tracked mic into a separate output, so you get a left track and right track for each mic. Therefore, two tracks for each mic.

When you insert the soft synth, select All Synth Audio Outputs:Stereo.
First Syth Audio Output will put all of the drums on one track.
All Synth Audio Outputs:Mono splits the left and right channels of each stereo pair into a separate output.
Make sure you have the All tab selected in the track view. Look at the inputs for the audio tracks and you can see that this is what's happening.
You will also notice that Mono piles everything up in the center, while Stereo maintains any panning built into the synth.

What do you mean, duplicating tracks? When you bounce it to audio or when you insert the soft synth?

..OK.... it seems to be duplicating tracks, and I cant figure out why.
anybody ever experience this?

I believe you'll want to choose All Synth Audio Output if you want the drums in separate tracks. Just delete the ones you don't need.

When you insert the softsynth into the synth rack, select First Synth Audio Output instead of All Synth Audio Output.

Hi

I'm inserting soft synth EZ Drummer into a project. I want multi track drums, but instead of getting 7 drum tracks, i get 16! Even tho I have specified MONO drum tracks. Here is my work path, perhaps someone here can tell me what I'm doing wrong:
Insert soft synth, EZ Drummer, brings up the Soft Synth options box and I have checked, create these tracks, Midi Source, Synth Track Folder, All Synth Audio Outputs: Mono. Note that First Synth Audio Output is NOT checked.. maybe thats whats wrong but i cant tell any difference if i do that. Enable MIDI output is NOT checked. Diusplay Automation On Midi Source Track.

then i click OK and i get an EZ drummer folder, with 16 audio tracks and 1 midi track.
Why 16? When the EZ Drummer interface opens, and I click the mixer, and select multitrack, theres only 9 mics. When I then apply a groove clip from EZ drummer to the Midi track, it plays correctly. I can turn the drums on and off by muting the tracks but it seems like its duplicating, i get two kicks, 4 snares, etc...

Am I getting stereo even tho i ask for Mono?

any help with this would be appreciated, thanks
