vista64 to windows 7 64 retaining programs (jzl)

Has anyone out there upgrade to win7 using the upgrade feature that retains your program files?
I've read elsewhere that people are doing this successfully. Makes sense considering win7 is almost vista sp2.
I'm just curious if anyone has chanced this with their DAW and if so how it went. I'm dreading the though of reloading and re-authorizing all my software if I do a clean install!!!
