(CafeArtist)

Echo did not work. It just started feeding back. I have use cakewalk HS since 1999 back when I used on Windows 98. I know Vista has some sound issues although I can still hear everything else through my headphone jack except when I record live with cakewalk. I have searched for patches and am finding none. Should I just get a USB Audio Interface instead?

Re:sound problems can you help? Its a button on the track near the M-S-R button. There will be a slight delay depending on the quality of the soundchip. Go to Options-Audio-Advanced and set the driver mode to WDM. Then run the Wave Profiler.

sound problems can you help? (CafeArtist)

I am new to the forum and am using SHS 7 and am having problems with hearing any sound from my laptops headphone output when I am trying to record. I can see the audio when I arm my track but I hear no sound coming out of the headphones. After I record I can play back and hear sound but not as I am laying the tracks down. My other sounds on my computer are working fine ie. windows startup etc. I had the same problem with my last computer and it seems like there was a patch or something for Vista. I am using windows Vista 32bit with a Conexant High Def Smart Audio 221 internal card.

I eventually will be getting an usb interface but I would like to see if I can get some help on the forum first.

btw I have updated all of the drivers and went through windows vista "fix it" to no avail. Can anyone help me?

Thanks ,
Tim
