He may ask for the RDZlog.txt file, possibly in your My Documents folder.
IIRC Jamstix doesn't check for updates on startup, although I may be wrong. Jamstix is working fine fofr me in MC5.
Re:MC5 and JamStix2 - (Guitarhacker)

Be sure you go to your Jamstix page and see if there are updates you need. I do not remember the latest release number but it you're getting a notice.... I'd at least check it out.

The system should be running stable... the pop up window is just a notice.... and you could ignore it forever if you wanted.

Crashes and memory dumps.... I have accepted them as "par for the course" with windows based recording. Back up and save often. Reboot when necessary.
Re:MC5 and JamStix2 - (Robomusic)

That is a tuffy John, I would go to rayzoon and ask Ralph if he can help you flush that one out. he is pretty solid on that stuff.

MC5 and JamStix2 - (JD1813)

This weekend I installed JamStix2 (full version) and tried it in MC5. The installation went fine, and the soft synth loads correctly into a project. I fooled around a bit with a previous song project, muting the drums kit I had and allowing JamStix2 to jam along, and also picked through various options or presets. I was surprised that I couldn't find anything that was even close to the groove I was after, and it looks like to use it I'd have to do a lot of manual editing. However that's not the reason for the post -

after I had left it alone for a few minutes while reading some of the docs on it, my system crashed. Or more accurately, it crashed my MC5 - it closed out gracefully at least, and my Windows OS was fine - I took the precaution of shutting the PC down, then bringing it all back up again clean. This time (and every time now subsequent), as my MC5 loads I get a popup that says that I need to run the JamStix2 updater. What's that and where is it run from, anybody know?

After I clear the message, MC5 runs OK, but I don't know if it's really running stable. I do not have the demo version installed under it, this is the full product. Aside from the initial install and the download of the default kit, I think that's all I've done. Appreciate any tips from those of you who use it. This is the 2nd attempt I've made to install it since I bought it many months ago when I ran MC4, because I had a lot of problems with it initially too, so decided to stay away from it. I've since reloaded/reinstalled the OS (Win XP Pro Sp3) with MC5 so it's a clean installation. Thanks for any tips. <img src="http://forum.cakewalk.com/upfiles/smiley/s3.gif" alt="" data-smiley="" />
