I thought it was ok, not great. Kind of what i expected really. But it is very nice that more of this kind of material are beginning to show up for Sonar. Hope Musictech does well so there'll be more Sonar covered in and by magazines in the future.

I really like that magazine even when they don't cover Sonar.

Yeah, I was commenting from having looked through it in WHSmith a few weeks ago. I could be wrong but I got the strong impression that on several of the articales I was reading something I had read word for word on the Sound on Sound website.

I think from my perspective I was expecting it to be better than it was and had the strong impression that it was mostly pulled together from already existing source material.

As someone commented on the other thread, it doesn't contain anything else that you can't find elsewhere on the web, but puts it togther in a useful user friendly document.

Personally I didn't find it that useful, but i'm sure others will.

Yeah, Matrix, Step sequencer and the new arpeggiator are covered. I don't think the source was Sound on Sound either as that is a rival publication.

I had a look at it and it's basically seems to mainly consist of old sound on sound articles cobbled together with a few bits and pieces from elsewhere. Hence a lot of the document relates to Sonar 6&7 and are several years old, despite it being called Sonar 8. You can find most of the content they've collated in the document for free on the sound on sound website.

I was at Borders last night, and came across The musictech focus magazine 132 pages of pure Cakewalk Sonar 8. Also comes with a DVD that contains support files, demos, & video tutorials.
