I was doing my AD/DA using two Firepods, with a Mackie as my live mix, and both going into an Yamaha 4416, which controlled the headphone/recording mix, and the monitor volume. Now i don't need the Yamaha or the Mackie's subs, and already I can hear a reduction in my noise floor and a hiss that recently turned up in the monitors (read: noticed due to acoustic treatment to the control room) caused by the Firepods. Still: this is the kind of stuff that gets me up in the morning, or- more likely- keeps me up at night (in a goodish way).

Re:No problem: just happy to finally have a MOTU 24 I/O and SONAR PE (MarlboroMan23)

I've had mine for a few years now and it's been solid. Are you using the PCI or PCIe card with it? When I upgrade my computer I'll probably need to switch to the PCIe card depending on the availability of PCI mobos.
No problem: just happy to finally have a MOTU 24 I/O and SONAR PE (OscarLaun)
I've been needing more than 16 channels for a while, now (mainly due to my ever-expanding drum mic'ing insanity) so it is nice to have more than enough simultaneous inputs!
My next big trick will be some premium pre's to replace the Mackie 1604 and Presonus Firepods'. Woo-hoo!
BTW: did you know a Firewire 6-wire cable is keyed so loosely that it can easily be inserted upside down? News to me.

Now to get that dual-boot going so I can use PT LE if needed...

Cheers!
