(windsurfer25x)

Well, I think I will say something now. The title of this thread, just like the title of the other thread the OP created gets on my nerves. It reminds of the tabloid newspaper headlines: "Half Dinosaur-half man found in jungle!", or "Is Obama the Anti-Christ?" or "New biblical scriptures found in cave in Israel predict end of the world in 2012" etc...

Let's tone down the drama...

Honestly if I were Cakewalk, I would probably get a kick out of making people like the OP wait, because they are impatient, I know that's not good customer service, but sometimes I feel that good customers deserve good service and bad ones deserve bad service or no service..

but in the end... why can't we all just get along and be happy?
Re:Is There Major Problems At Cakewalk? (John)

I have stayed out of this thread because I thought it would die a natural death.

I am not all that sure what Vikki is wanting from this thread. Nor am I sure if the OP is trying to find out something. It is very unclear to me.

If the OP wants to buy then that is an easy way to do it in the store online. If the OP is looking for info then a question here or a look around the web site should get the answer.

On the other hand if the OP is trying to stir up trouble then anyone having a problem with it should report the OP.

We are not is a position to know what is in the mind of any given poster. Sometimes its easy to tell but we can never be completely sure. We can make our best guess and come after them but in the end that is of little use. We are far better off simply reporting them to CW via the easy report button by every posting.

I will say this though, I was finding Randy's posts here on target. He makes a good case for them and I believe he is if not very right at least close. My view is the OP has deliberately obscured any real true issue the OP may have with CW in order to paint a very negative picture of CW. This is after reading this thread and the other one.

I am not all that sure about the OP so I have said nothing here.

I do know Randy through his postings and I know that he would not get involved in this if he didn't believe strongly in what he is saying.

If one can make a case that is believable about the OP not being a troll I am all ears. But maybe it would be better for all if this thread did die now.

Re:Is There Major Problems At Cakewalk? I used to be able to call up Cake and talk to somebody on the second ring. Part of that is the "give it to me cheaper" mentality we have. We really are not willing to pay for service for th most part. So I can't blame Cakewalk too much for this but it still stinks. Yes,I have been on hold for over an hour, and yes, I do not get the emails. So, all in all service is worse. When the bean counters get involved the workd looks like this: Sales and marketing people make money, everyone else in the company costs money. Especially after the sale service!
You did not bother to read my reply. No, the company is not Cakewalk. I am not talking about restocking fees. That has been waived. But I have to send the unit back on my dime. Apparently this is normal now.

Scott, you "Never" said which company with the restocking fee. Have you read your own post?
Anyway, I have to wonder if I am ina different universe. I am a technology nerd. I am constantlty buying, sellingf, returning softwas(well, not returning software) Buying more, On a scale of one to ten CW is about a 6-7 in my book. So I am realistic. Where do you people shop and get instant gratification? Customer service s**ks everywhere for the most part.
Companies go up and down also. So come on-be fair in your comments. Sure you can find some 9's and 10's. But they are far and in between-in my reality anyway.
Difference is-with CW(and other software\hardware comoanies on the web) you have a forum. That's the difference.
You cannot post your disatisfaction with all comp-anies. So folks can come here and rant and yell about their bad experience.
Like I said Scott-The favorable experienxces are not posted generally as you know. So the rants and bad stick out.
Sorry you have had such a terrible time with CW, my experience has been "normal" for a company of this type.
Best of luck!
Re:Is There Major Problems At Cakewalk? (kitekrazy)

mudgel

As bad as Cakewalk's Customer Service is for one user you'll find another with a spectacularly successful story of how they were helped. Guess its the nature of support services.

It hasn't really changed in my long association with Cakewalk so it might be a bit early to proclaim that Cakewalk is just hanging on.

The page you linked to has to this to say regarding what constitutes eligibility for the loyal customer discount:

"This is a special offer for SONAR users who have been hand selected as Cakewalk's most loyal upgraders.

I got the email but I already had S 8.5. In your case I hardly think that not having upgraded for 4 versions would entitle you to be hand picked. If you didn't get the email perhaps you weren't picked.

I guess they wanted you to buy another copy.
Re:Is There Major Problems At Cakewalk?
