ASIO reported latency?

Good question. That's what the slider is set at. I'd have go into Options audio page and look at all the stats for the reported latency. There's really no telling what figures you'll get with a different setup. The buffer size and latency settings are going to vary performance per equipment and plugins used. You can adjust the ASIO buffers with the V700R with it's ASIO control panel (something a lot of interfaces don't do). I've been hassling with other things recently but I will open the DAW and give you a complete rundown as soon as I can. I understand why you want to get all these stats down before you buy the system but there's really no way to tell without recreating the setup you're going to use. I made the jump and it works for me.

Re:V-Studio 700 converters (windsurfer25x)

Thanks Craig,

When you say 4.8 ms latency.. that's.... one way? round-trip? I dread doing so. I,d have to open up the DAW to tell you whats posted. I'm using a custom built 4 core Q6600 with 4 Gb ram, with Win 7 Home Premium in 32 bit. I can tell you this, right now it's running on 4.8 ms latency with 256 buffers with ASIO. I could go lower but since I'm using the Fantom Synth with all 16 channels and three Midi devices I need some headroom. I'm using the V700R and a Motu 2408 Mk 3 connected to ADAT in on the V700R. All sixteen channels ( 8 from the V700R & 8 from the Motu ) work flawlessy and there is no discernable latency between note initiation and sound output. At least I can't hear it. There are numerous settings involved in any setup. Having people post their specs is not going to have much relavence to your setup, they're all different.
I haven't had many of the problems you've probably read about. What you use and what you do will certainly influence performance, with your listed plugins I couldn't say. The VS 700 system is one of the best out there. Good luck in your search.

Re:V-Studio 700 converters (windsurfer25x)

Can any V-Studio owners here report their round trip latency along with their system specs please?
Re:V-Studio 700 converters (windsurfer25x)

The other major question I have is about the drivers and stability... what kind of latency could i expect? (round trip)

And I thought i saw somewhere that the fantom synth doesn't work in Windows 7 64 bit Sonar 64 bit which is what I run..
Re:V-Studio 700 converters (garrigus)

Yes, if the Lynx has a digital input, then it should work. The VS700R has digital inputs/outputs so you can connect an external preamp unit for additional audio connections.

Scott

--
Scott R.
