it's awesome you posted this because the way Google works when someone does a search for " resetting the Korg 05/W " they will find your post. You are now a world famous publisher cool. I find it amazing how many Sonar threads show when you Google questions regarding our hobby.
So do you still use yours? I love using mine on the program mode for big synth sounds.
It was my back up band for over 6 years in the early 90's. I then I recorded via Atari KCS sequences to Mini disk and in 2004 to computer as Waves. Those tracks are still working after 18 years or more. Sad it mostly gathers dust now.

Reset the Korg 05R/W to factory (initialize):

    * Press GLOBAL MULTI;
    * Using the BANK/PAGE+ button, scroll to page 05A PRESET DATA;
    * Press the +1 button. It will prompt "Are You Sure OK?";
    * Press the +1 button again. It will show "Completed". The unit is now reset to factory specs.

I found this information difficult to obtain so I'm posting this just in case anyone searches for it.
