These may be constrained beyond what raw memory available, and as such are often the source of "out of memory" messages even when there is actually sufficient system RAM available. GDI, for example, is a global resource shared by all programs. One program can exhaust it, preventing another, unrelated program to fail.

These are usually not issues that you, the end user, can pursue on your own. The developers have to trace through the error to determine its actual cause.
ANSWERED: SFZ+ "not enough memory" when loading fairly small soundfont (larrymcg)

Using SHS7XL on WinXP with 4GB memory. Got newest SFZ+ and Steinway Grand Piano 1.2 from sf2midi.com

My question has to do with "not enough memory" errors when trying to load the grand piano.
I've got a description of the 4 loading modes for SFZ+ (SF32, SF16, PR32 and PR16).
The grand piano font is about 30MB. It will not load in SF32 or SF16. Only PR32 and PR16. Task Manager shows 2.5GB available.

Shouldn't it load in any of the modes?

--Larry

PS: The good news is that it plays and sounds fine in PR32 mode.
