Ok then i will keep everything on C as i have 400gb free and it transfers at 500mb per second and I will keep the second raid volume for audio, could you just expand on that? what you mean by audio? is that where i will record too?

Also which should i install first dim pro beatscape etc or x1 and then the others?

There's no benefit to installing plug ins and sample content away from the C drive.

other than space if you have it set to raid 1 you get only in my case 128 gigs not near enough for sonar and its friends
but yes having all on c and use the other drive for projetcs and audio, is easyest. agreed

your running 2 drives on raid )0( or )1( i have my raid as o but it wasnt a great choice,i was after the high trasfer rate
i have basicly everything on my main raid C drive
with all my expantions and other plugins on the D drive
with a path pionting into your D drive cakewalk
there are many ways you can go, i think iv installed sonar over years every screw up way possible

keep it simple
here is a nice read on plugin scaning, that help know what what at startup.
with a raid 0 i dont even see how fast they load , it helps to keep it down to a few paths

I have rebuilt my installation from one ssd to a 500gb raid with 2 wildfire ssd. I have also added to western digital enterprise 10000 rpm drives which are 4 times faster than my original drive secondary drive.

It might be subjective but should i install the vst plugins and the content away from the c: drive and if so how do i do that.

As a novice I always found sonar difficult on installation and thats with default directories.

If i get the sequence wrong then plugins are just not found.

I have the producer version along with rapture, z3 v2 and dimension pro as a purchased version as well.

advice on where and how would be great so i get the utmost from my system.

8gb ddr2
64 bit win 7
2 x wildfire 240gb ssd c: drive
2 x western digital raptor raid 0 f:drive
1 x seagate 1.5 terra hardrive d: drive (this is an appalling drive, seems to hibernate on its own or just plain drowsy)
gtx 260 oc btg graphics card
