As some of you apparently use the Gran Vista or Carbon themes, I intend to post the updates I’ll have to do for my own use whenever additions to the CbB user interface are being done in the future. These updates may not be posted in this forum as it’s said soon to be shuffled off this mortal coil, but once that happens hopefully in some other forum near you.

Matching CA-2A skins
Those of you using the Gran Vista or Carbon themes and also the PC-2A module might find that the module’s brushed aluminum stands out like a sore thumb against the dark theme. As I lately needed to spend some quality time with my procrastinations, I’ve created matching dark skins for each of the four theme variants, plastic knobs and all. For consistency, I also did likewise with the non-ProChannel effect (not shown here).

As CA-2A predates SONAR/CbB themes and hasn’t been made aware of them, replacing the default skin can’t be done through a theme update. It involves some manual tweaking, but it’s still very easy. Instructions on how to install and uninstall the graphic resources are supplied in a pdf that comes with the zip file. After downloading, please begin by reading these instructions before you proceed.

The zip file containing all the matching CA-2A skins can be fetched here:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmXDCxaGb7JEdYUVehZD7U-0cMY

Gran Vista Black & Blue 030
Additionally, some of you have asked for a Gran Vista Black & Blue theme with only 30% gloss. Your wait is over and you can find the new link among all the others in this post.

Re: A Shiny New Theme: Gran Vista Black & Blue (digimidi)

Thanks, Canopus! We know a lot of hard work went into these themes and we really appreciate it. I'm going to try the Carbon theme first. Also, a shout out to Kamikaze.

Regards
Re: A Shiny New Theme: Gran Vista Black & Blue (arlen2133)

I'm sorry I'm late to the party. Saw this a couple of days ago and promised when I got to my DAW I would download (well, I'm here! )..
So far, I LOVE the 0%...
Not that I don't like the others (a lot), but the 0% seems to be better for me..
Will be using this one for a while to come.
Thanks Canopus! Great job!
Re: A Shiny New Theme: Gran Vista Black & Blue (mkerl)

Thx for sharing your work
Re: A Shiny New Theme: Gran Vista Black & Blue (FCCfirstclass)

Thanks for all the hard work.

I love the carbon look.
Re: A Shiny New Theme: Gran Vista Black & Blue (royarn)

Thankyou. Now there are four different versions of Gran Vista Black & Blue and also an additional theme called Carbon, so maybe more users may find something that works for them or at least can endure. The different Gran Vista variants are:

Gran Vista Black & Blue 000
No gloss on the PC modules and some other elements being non-glossy as well, such as the track icons. This is a theme for the serious production-centric user.
Download from here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmXDCxaGb7JEbGpfDomY4iiHPfY

Gran Vista Black & Blue 030
Only 30% opacity on the gloss layer gives a subtle glare. This is a theme for the quite serious production-centric user who doesn’t want to have too little or too much of just about anything.
Download from here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmXDCxaGb7JEdCAuHOsrCAeaNP4

Gran Vista Black & Blue 060
Only 60% opacity on the gloss layer makes for a matte look-and-feel. This is a theme for the more casual production-centric user who, in the middle of a mixdown, still can appreciate some black plastic.
Download from here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmXDCxaGb7JEbfXIwcxnm-Y-WPA

Gran Vista Black & Blue 100
Full 100% opacity on the gloss layer. This is effectively the original theme but for the sake of consistency comes with a new name. A theme for all of us who likes shiny, black plastic without reservations.
Download from here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmXDCxaGb7JEblAVDPH9Yip3v7A

Anyone who has downloaded the original theme and intends to continue using it is encouraged to download one of the above anyway. An issue previously found by optimus made the progress bar invisible while bouncing to tracks. This has now been fixed so an update is recommended.

Carbon
While at it I also did an additional fifth theme for the really serious production-centric purist which I’ve called Carbon. It has an even darker look and also a flat, non-glossy Control Bar. All other design elements are shared with Gran Vista Black & Blue 000.

Download from here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmXDCxaGb7JEcOCxvwxFeFGalk4

Enough Photoshoppin'. Now let's go make some music instead!

Edit January 5, 2019: As this forum has been replaced and is soon to be made read-only, all further updates will only be announced at the following link: https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/325-gran-vista-and-carbon-themes/

Re: A Shiny New Theme: Gran Vista Black & Blue (TheSteven)

Skyline_UK
I don't seem to have the Theme Editor installed (?).
