The only option right now to avoid this is to save ahead of time some templates with floating disabled per each window..
right?

the basic default(always float when launching) mode can be fixed in 5 minutes i'm sure... going beyond that will take more more time... like another thread on page 1 (been asked 100's of times) - the synth rack vs. fx bin for synths -
i'm not really for a major new design for all the above...it might break stuff that works ( ouch...)
or maybe it IS better to design these again ? really , i don't know which is the better way regarding these major GUI things-
screen space workflow and a "synth rack WITH automation"

Float means also "always on top" behavior...so is it clever to design windows that always have the "always on top" by default? ...and i DO use two monitors (so i do use also the Floating mode)..thank you

... it's all for good reasons and for a better workflow in the future !
it can be fixed... a PITA doesn't mean that it's a "bug" of course... Sonar is great ! here here..some positive thoughts! " />

i'm so sorry - it's NOT a right click .. it's a left click on the top left of a window..just wanted to make this clear.

for example- skyline (in another thread) decided that messing with 16 instances of the Dimension Pro sampler is just too much ...
I personally do find it "possible" (although sure not so convenient) BUT to avoid the trouble is it possible to browse thru all the windows?
I DO need to Ctrl+Tab between them..and yes i do use sometimes some assigned key shortcut to reach to the other screens (Track view, console view...etc.)

when each of the synth/plugs instances is open in FLOATING mode (which covers everything else..."always on top" behavior") i can't imagine that you have to click "disable floating" 16 times in that example...

no comments i see..so maybe the answer is YES and we're all stuck with launching plugs/synths and then keep on 1-minimizing/closing the windows...or 2- choose "disable floating" for EACH one..each time we open any... OUCH !

Tested here and yes, the floating views minimize/maximize not affect other views. And the settings still active in the other projects we open. Nice.

I have had instances that window sizes have been zeroed, so the Restored size appears the same as the minimized sized

Select one, click restore. Mouse over the edges looking for drag arrows.

Here it doesn't minimize them all when i minimize one window.

That's not new. This will only happen if the window you maximize/restore is not floating. If it is floating, it will not affect other views.

Last night, out of the blue, the way the different windows minimize and maximize inside Sonar changed.

Now when I minimize one window, they all minimize - it's totally annoying.

Then when I maximize the window I want, the minimized windows are hidden behind it and I can't get to them.

Any tips/ideas?

Did I change something unknowingly?
