That's the way I do it. It then populates the cells with the samples with different velocities.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; The other way to do it is to enter each sample individually in the cells to your requirements and then save it as a kit. It needs to support disk streaming for one thing.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Using the waves, yes you can make you own mappings, but it pretty much means you do not value your time spent very much. I tend to mix down what I'm working on in Sonar and then construct the drum track in Project5, it's a little easier on the CPU consumption. It is very extensive though.I've used them in Dr-008 and they work fine. I also bought Halion player just for the purpose of using the presets. and frankly  i'd rather assemble my own after hearing them... but there are a LOT of files to sort through. The pre sets for the hats are great in Halion I must say  using the mod wheel to emulate open to closed hats works really well.
